Aero India 2025: Traffic Restrictions Issued For Bengaluru Event

Bengaluru Traffic Police prepare for smooth access to Yelahanka Air Force Station as Aero India 2025 approaches.

Bengaluru is preparing to host one of the largest aerospace and defense exhibitions in Asia, Aero India 2025, scheduled from February 10 to 14 at the Yelahanka Air Force Station. With this significant event drawing attention from around the globe, the Bengaluru Traffic Police have issued specific traffic restrictions and management plans to facilitate smooth access for attendees.

The traffic advisory, stated by the Bengaluru Traffic Police, will be effective from 5 AM on February 10 until 10 PM on February 14, ensuring organized movement for the expected influx of visitors. The police are urging attendees to plan their travel accordingly, particularly since they expect heavy traffic around the venue.

“The traffic arrangements will be enforced from 5 AM on February 10 to 10 PM on February 14,” noted the police’s official statement. To assist attendees, free parking has been made available at the GKVK campus, along with complimentary shuttle services operated by BMTC (Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation) connecting the parking area to the event venue.

Parking arrangements are clearly defined based on access zones. Visitors can avail free parking at GKVK Campus, which includes free AC shuttle buses to the Air Display Viewing Area (ADVA). For those requiring paid parking, entries for ADVA are through Gates 8 and 9, with separate domestic parking through Gate 5.

The police's traffic directive indicates several designated routes for easy navigation to different parking zones. For attendees traveling from Bengaluru East to ADVA parking, for example, they can utilize the following route: K R Puram → Nagavara → Jakkuru Cross → Yelahanka Bypass → Palanahalli Gate. Visitors arriving from Bengaluru West should take Goraguntepalya → BEL Circle → MS Palya → Doddaballapura Road for ADVA parking.

For those approaching from Bengaluru South, the suggested route to ADVA parking is via Mysore Road → Nayandahalli → BEL Circle → Doddaballapura Road. It’s important for attendees to stay informed about the various routes to prevent congestion, especially as heavy traffic is anticipated.

Notably, as part of the traffic management strategy, the movement of heavy vehicles, including trucks and private buses, will be prohibited on certain main roads, including the stretch from Mekhri Circle to MVIT Cross. This restriction is aimed at enhancing safety and minimizing the risk of accidents during the busy event period.

“Parking for all vehicles on these routes is prohibited,” emphasizes the advisory, specifying road restrictions where parking is not permitted, including areas like Nagenahalli to Ford Show Room and others involving multiple junctions throughout the city. This is intended to clear pathways for emergency services and traffic to flow uninterrupted.

Anyone planning to travel to the Kempegowda International Airport during Aero India 2025 is advised to use the alternate routes suggested by the traffic authorities. From the East, travelers can take KR Puram → Hennur Cross → Kannur → Begur (Back Gate) to reach the airport efficiently. Those coming from the West should navigate via Goraguntepalya → BEL Circle → Rajanakunte → MVIT to avoid congestion.

The Bengaluru Traffic Police are also encouraging attendees to utilize public transport options where possible, stressing the importance of allowing extra travel time to reach their destinations. With numerous exhibitions and thrilling aerobatic displays expected at Aero India 2025, proper planning will help everyone have a more enjoyable experience.

This biennial air show, organized by the Defence Exhibition Organisation under the Ministry of Defence, not only provides insight and excitement about the aerospace and defence sectors but also embodies the Indian Air Force's capabilities through dynamic aerial demonstrations. The first installment of Aero India was held at the same venue back in 1996, establishing it as an important event for industry professionals and the public alike.

With all these measures in place, Bengaluru is ready to embrace Aero India 2025, anticipating both the excitement this world-class aviation exhibition will bring and the influx of visitors from both home and abroad.
