2025 MotoGP Season Launches With Thrilling Broadcast Coverage

Fans can expect comprehensive viewing options across multiple platforms for exciting races throughout the season.

The highly anticipated 2025 MotoGP motorcycle racing season is upon us, and with it brings excitement and logistical challenges for fans wanting to catch all the high-speed action. The MotoGP, renowned as the fastest motorcycle racing series globally, is set to commence its season with the Grand Prix of Thailand, held at the Buriram International Circuit, kick-starting on March 2, 2025.

Broadcasting rights for the MotoGP, including the supporting classes Moto2, Moto3, and MotoE, reveal a patchwork of coverage across the German-speaking regions of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (DACH). Notably, fans can tune in to experience all 22 race weekends through Sky Sport and on the official website, motogp.com—however, both services require subscriptions.

Transitioning from the end of 2023 to the start of 2024, the Austrian broadcaster ServusTV has adjusted its strategy for MotoGP broadcasts. After ceasing linear operations in Germany, ServusTV is now collaborating with DF1. For the 2025 season, DF1 will air twelve selected MotoGP events live and for free on linear television. Those preferring digital platforms can catch the races on ServusTV On or Red Bull TV, which are accessible on modern television devices. Despite the broad reach of DF1, it is important to note the Grand Prix of Thailand does not fall under the live broadcasts for Germany. Instead, DF1 will present only a race recap at 6 PM on the day of the event.

Austria continues to enjoy uninterrupted coverage from ServusTV, which will air all races live without interruption on both its linear and digital channels, including Red Bull TV. Starting from 5:20 AM on race day, the channel will provide continuous coverage of all racing classes.

For Swiss fans, the public service broadcaster SRG manages the rights across various channels, with the races broadcasted on the German-speaking SRF, French RTS, and Italian RSI. The presentation of MotoGP races typically occurs with greater emphasis on the flagship class. Nevertheless, for the Grand Prix of Thailand, Swiss viewers will experience only delayed coverage, with highlights airing at 12 PM. Meanwhile, RSI plans to broadcast live coverage starting at 5:55 AM on Sunday, featuring the MotoGP event live. RTS2 also announces it will air the MotoGP race live following the rebroadcast of the Moto3 race. Swiss fans are encouraged to enjoy the extensive coverage provided by RSI along with highlights from RTS2, ensuring access to thrilling moments of the MotoGP.

Alongside technical arrangements, the 2025 MotoGP season will feature the renowned expertise of ServusTV’s commentary team, bringing years of racing experience to the screen. Audiences can look forward to insights from motorcycle racing icon Gustl Auinger, former MotoGP rider Alex Hofmann, and World Champions Stefan Bradl and Sandro Cortese. The presenting duo of Alina Marzi and Eve Scheer will lead the discussions, supported by commentators Christian Brugger and Philipp Krummholz, ensuring fans are informed of every twist and turn of this year's racing events.

The opening weekend of the Grand Prix of Thailand is expected to draw large audiences eager to witness the thrills of modern motorcycle racing. The weekend schedule for the race day on March 2 sets the stage with several key events:

  • 4:40 AM – 4:50 AM: Warm-up session for MotoGP

  • 6:00 AM: Moto3 race (19 laps)

  • 7:15 AM: Moto2 race (22 laps)

  • 9:00 AM: MotoGP race (26 laps)

This strategic arrangement not only highlights the anticipation surrounding the MotoGP season opener but also signals the return of one of the motorsport world’s most thrilling competitions. Fans globally can tune in as teams and riders compete for the prestigious championship title, underscoring the deep-rooted traditions and developing narratives within the sport.

Overall, the 2025 MotoGP season promises to deliver high-speed excitement, professional insight, and streaming variety for motorcycle racing fans eagerly awaiting the rubber-burning thrill of motorcycle racing action. Whether on linear television, streaming platforms, or social media updates, the upcoming season is ready to mesmerize audiences around the world, providing community and engagement for all motorcycle enthusiasts.
