Zeekr, the premium New Energy Vehicle (NEV) brand under Geely, has officially launched its latest electric car, the Zeekr 007 GT, in China. This new model, classified as a Station Wagon, follows the success of the Zeekr 001 and is priced starting at 202,900 yuan, approximately 916,000 baht. The standout feature of the Zeekr 007 GT is its impressive driving range of up to 825 kilometers and a powerful output of 637 horsepower.
The Zeekr brand, which debuted in 2021, has quickly expanded its lineup to six models, with the Zeekr 007 GT being the latest addition. The car's design is based on a new concept called "Hidden Energy," utilizing the PMA2+ modular structure derived from the SEA platform, similar to the Zeekr 001. Despite a general preference for SUVs in the Chinese market, Zeekr is pivoting towards Station Wagons, as evidenced by the Zeekr 001, which accounts for a remarkable 70% of all Station Wagon sales in the country.
Chu Ling, the Vice President of Zeekr, emphasized that the company is committed to developing Station Wagon vehicles, particularly given the strong performance of the Zeekr 001. The Zeekr 007 GT is positioned as a more advanced model aimed at technology enthusiasts, with plans for a European release under the name Zeekr 7 GT.
The exterior of the Zeekr 007 GT features a cutting-edge design, highlighted by a prominent 90-inch interactive LED light bar known as the Zeekr Stargate, capable of displaying images or messages. The car is also equipped with an active front air intake, a LiDAR sensor mounted on the roof, and sleek 20-inch alloy wheels.
In terms of dimensions, the Zeekr 007 GT measures 4,864 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,445 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,925 mm, making it longer than the Audi A4 Allroad by 101 mm. The vehicle also boasts an air suspension system and a newly designed safety structure that allows the electric motor to slide downwards in the event of a frontal collision, protecting the passenger area.
Inside, the Zeekr 007 GT offers a luxurious experience with a 15.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 35.5-inch AR head-up display, and an oval-shaped instrument cluster. The car is equipped with an AI assistant that can execute over 200 functions and includes a 50W wireless charging pad. The interior is designed for comfort, featuring Nappa leather upholstery, heated and cooled seats with a massage function, and a panoramic sunroof that blocks up to 99.99% of UV rays.
With an impressive interior utilization rate of 83.5%, the Zeekr 007 GT offers 36 storage compartments, a total cargo space of 1,737 liters when the rear seats are folded, and a 10.2-liter refrigerator. The vehicle also includes advanced intelligent driving assistance systems, incorporating 31 sensors, 11 cameras, 3 radars, and 1 LiDAR, powered by the Nvidia Orin-X chip with a processing power of 508 TOPS. Features such as automatic emergency braking (AEB), automatic evasive steering (G-AES), and navigation without maps (NOA) enhance the driving experience.
The Zeekr 007 GT delivers thrilling performance, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.95 seconds. The base model features a single rear motor with a maximum output of 310 kW (416 horsepower), while the all-wheel-drive variant adds a front motor of 165 kW (221 horsepower), achieving a total of 637 horsepower. The braking system, equipped with Brembo brakes, allows the car to stop from 100 km/h in just 34.4 meters.
Battery options for the Zeekr 007 GT include a 75 kWh LFP battery and a 100 kWh NMC battery, both providing a maximum range of 825 km as per CLTC standards. The vehicle also made headlines by setting a drift record on ice with a distance of 55.011 km, just behind the Zeekr 001's record of 65.990 km. Furthermore, the Zeekr 007 GT supports 800V charging with a rapid charging capability of 5.5C and vehicle-to-vehicle charging (V2V) at 60 kW, acting as a mobile charging station.
The Zeekr 007 GT has proven its durability by successfully participating in the Grand Tour to the Arctic, demonstrating its capability to operate effectively in extreme cold conditions. The vehicle is available in four variants: the RWD with a 75 kWh battery priced at 202,900 yuan, the RWD with a 100 kWh battery at 222,900 yuan, the 4WD with a 75 kWh battery at 232,900 yuan, and the 4WD with a 100 kWh battery at 262,900 yuan. Customers who order before May 31, 2025, will receive a discount of 3,000 yuan, bringing prices down to between 199,900 and 249,900 yuan.
All variants come with a comprehensive warranty of six years or 150,000 km, while the electric system is guaranteed for the lifetime of the vehicle. As the Zeekr 007 GT enters the market, it sets a new standard for electric Station Wagons in China, combining luxury, performance, and cutting-edge technology to cater to the evolving needs of consumers.
