Zagreb Gears Up For Exciting Cultural Events This March

The city will host the PLACE2GO tourism fair and the Festival of Lights, showcasing art, culture, and innovation.

ZAGREB - The vibrant capital of Croatia is preparing itself for two thrilling events showcasing art, culture, tourism, and innovative design! The PLACE2GO tourism fair and the Festival of Lights are set to excite visitors and residents alike.

The PLACE2GO tourism fair, marking its twelfth edition, will occur from March 28 to 30, 2025, at the Zagreb Fairground. Attendees can expect to see over 200 exhibitors from countries including Algeria, Madagascar, India, and the United States. This year's event will bring together international representatives showcasing their unique tourism offerings, enhancing cultural exchange and promoting global tourism.

While PLACE2GO is making waves, the Festival of Lights will run from March 19 to 23, 2025, transforming the city with twenty-five dazzling light installations across twenty-two locations. The festival opens on March 19, 2025, at 7 PM outside the iconic Esplanade Hotel. Amidst glowing installations inspired by local and global narratives, visitors will traverse enchanting neighborhoods and historical sites, celebrating creativity and the arts.

The dazzling event is poised to pay homage to the talents of domestic and international artists. For example, the renowned Hotel Esplanade, celebrating its centenary, will feature the "Circle of Light" installation. This artistic illumination is intended to commemorate its rich history.

Meanwhile, the Croatian city gears up to welcome back the Ninth Day of Italian Design, fostering conversations about urban transformation and sustainability. Celebrated on March 17, 2025, at the ORIS House of Architecture, this will feature designer Domenico Diego of Studio Otto from Milan. According to Italian Ambassador to Zagreb, Paolo Trichilo, the event will reflect on how design can motivate and facilitate societal change.

Quipping on the dual goals of the event, Trichilo stated, “We aim to promote Italian style and engage on the shared responsibility of architecture and design to combat societal inequalities,” as printed by ANSA. By connecting artistic prowess and ethical responsibility, the event exemplifies how design might bolster urban environments.

Adding another layer to Zagreb’s artistic atmosphere is the upcoming Money Motion 2025 event. Scheduled for March 27-28, 2025, KILT Protocol will participate alongside industry experts. Panel discussions will explore digital identities, offering insights on modern digital transformations.

Taking form at the Zagreb Fair, the panel titled “The Currency You Didn’t Know You Were Spending: Digital Identity” is intended to provoke thought on how individual privacy is maintained within digital transactions. KILT Protocol, launched as a Kusama parachain, contributes to this discourse by emphasizing secure data sharing and user control over personal credentials.

KILT’s vision to empower users through innovative blockchain solutions aligns with current discussions focused on privacy and efficiency within the digital economy.

Both PLACE2GO and the Festival of Lights promise significant cultural and economic benefits for the City of Zagreb, enhancing its reputation on the global stage. Crowds await the flickering light displays, artistic conversations, and vibrant exchanges at one of Croatia's leading tourism fairs.

This upcoming series of events is not merely about showcasing but also involves fostering connections among cultures, engaging through art, sustainability, and innovation. Zagreb is certainly on the map this spring, inviting people to explore its creative essence.

So, as the flowers bloom and the weather warms, the city stands poised to demonstrate its artistic flair through the lights, inviting all to experience these momentous celebrations.
