YouTuber P2istheName’s Cause Of Death Revealed

The popular YouTuber Philip Enewally died of a rare heart condition causing sudden cardiac dysfunction, leaving millions of fans and fellow creators mourning his loss.

Philip Enewally, better known as the popular YouTuber P2istheName, passed away at the young age of 26 on March 14, 2025, leaving his fans and fellow creators in shock. Nearly three months after his sudden death, the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner has officially revealed the cause: a natural death resulting from sudden cardiac dysfunction due to solitary papillary muscle hypertrophy, a rare heart condition.

The medical examiner's report, released on June 10, 2025, explained that this condition is a subtype of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which significantly increases the risk of a sudden fatal cardiac event. Enewally was found unresponsive in the mailroom of his Los Angeles apartment building shortly after collapsing. Despite immediate efforts by paramedics, he was pronounced dead at 3:11 p.m. local time.

This heartbreaking news has resonated deeply across the online community, where P2istheName had amassed nearly 4 million subscribers. Known primarily for his engaging video game walkthroughs, particularly of NBA 2K and Fortnite, he had also expanded his content to include lifestyle vlogs, skits, and glimpses into his personal life. Beyond YouTube, he was an entrepreneur who launched his own streetwear brand, Don’t Mind Us, and had recently shared plans to relocate from Los Angeles to Atlanta to pursue new opportunities.

In one of his final videos, posted on February 24, 2025, titled "A regular night with my rich ‘psychotic’ friends," Enewally candidly discussed his desire to leave his hometown after spending his entire life in Los Angeles. “I feel like I’m in a place where I need to meet new people,” he said. “I feel like I want there to be an era in my life where I leave my comfort zone.” This sentiment reflected a young man at a crossroads, eager to grow beyond the familiar but also grappling with the uncertainties ahead.

Despite his rising fame, Enewally had recently opened up about feeling lost amid declining viewership. His earlier videos regularly attracted millions of views, but in recent months, his clips averaged between 20,000 to 60,000 views—a steep drop that weighed heavily on him. Still, his creativity and connection with fans remained strong, as evidenced by the outpouring of grief and respect following his death.

Fellow content creators and fans took to social media to express their sorrow and celebrate his life. COLETHEMAN, a YouTuber with nearly one million subscribers, shared on X, “My good friend @P2istheName has passed away… wow. I’m honestly at a loss for words. He was always so kind to me and gave me so much content creation advice. May he rest in peace. This breaks my heart.”

Popular streamer Kai Cenat also paid tribute, recalling how P2istheName supported him early in his career despite not being very close. “I want to go ahead and say RIP,” Cenat wrote, expressing shock at the loss of someone so young. Another YouTuber, YourRage, reflected on the suddenness of the tragedy: “This is sad bruh… nobody even knows how either. He just collapsed as soon as he walked out a room. No symptoms nothing. Bro was healthy having a regular a-- night & boom. Tomorrow isn't promised yall .. live wit no regrets. Prayers to all his friends & family fr.”

Fans shared heartfelt messages as well, with one commenting under his last video, “Rest in peace brother. You carried us through dark times, always brought a smile to my face.” Another fan wrote, “Waking up and checking your channel for a new upload just to receive bad news was just heartbreaking. Rip brother.”

Beyond his digital presence, Enewally’s ambitions extended to his personal life. In one vlog, he spoke about his dreams of fatherhood and the hope that one day his children would want to live somewhere better than where he grew up. “When I’m like 35, 36, I’m 26 years old right now, but when I’m older and I have kids one day, I want my kids to be able to talk to me and be like ‘yo daddy, I want to live here’ and I’ll be able to say, ‘don’t say that, that place is trash,’” he said.

The circumstances of his death remain a sobering reminder of how fragile life can be, even for those who seem vibrant and full of promise. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner ruled the manner of death natural, with no indication that drugs or alcohol played a role. The sudden cardiac dysfunction linked to the heart condition was the sole cause.

P2istheName’s mother confirmed his passing shortly after the tragic event and requested privacy for the family during their time of mourning. She also encouraged fans to honor his memory by visiting his channel, which has since become a digital memorial filled with tributes and memories.

His legacy as a content creator who brought joy and laughter to millions, while also bravely sharing his struggles, continues to inspire. In a world where internet fame can be fleeting, Enewally’s impact endures through the community he built and the connections he fostered.

As the news of his death spread, it also highlighted a broader conversation about the pressures faced by young creators navigating the volatile landscape of online fame. The steep decline in his viewership and his candid reflections on feeling lost underscore the challenges behind the scenes.

Yet, in remembering Philip Enewally, fans and fellow creators alike celebrate the vibrant spirit he shared with the world—a spirit that, even in its sudden end, continues to resonate deeply.
