On April 16, 2025, a significant discussion opened the thematic week at the House of the Eurasian Scientific and Educational Center in Ufa, focusing on the interaction between science and business. The meeting, organized by a charitable foundation, aimed to support young scientists and involve them in addressing practical issues faced by domestic high-tech industries.
Stepan Kalmykov, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), emphasized the importance of this interaction, stating, "Our lives have changed dramatically, and we face serious challenges that undoubtedly impact science, technology, and education. However, this is also an interesting time when industry presents new demands, and science feels its significance in solving state tasks."
Kamil Ramazanov, President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Bashkortostan, highlighted the significant transformations within the Academy over the past three years. He noted that the management system and task-setting processes have evolved, and they are eager to welcome young doctors of science who wish to realize their potential in solving regional and national problems. "We perform research works in the interests of the republic and are happy to see young scientists striving to solve the region's and country's challenges," Ramazanov remarked.
The discussion featured representatives from the RAS, the Sistema Charitable Foundation, the Phystech-School Development Fund, the Eurasian Research Center (REC), and the local scientific community. Natalia Latypova, Director of the Management Company of the REC of the Republic of Bashkortostan, noted the successful mission of the Eurasian REC in uniting scientists, students, and enterprises from the real economy sector. She stated, "The dynamics of recent years and trends in science and industry show that the introduction of the results of a scientist's work into the real sector of the economy is becoming the main factor in their success."
During the event, opportunities for young scientists to engage with science-intensive businesses and obtain support for their research were presented. This included a competition organized by the Sistema Foundation and the RAS, supported by 18 leading high-tech companies. Larisa Pastukhova, President of the Sistema Charitable Foundation, explained, "This year we have expanded the number of nominations to ten, conducted an audit of the areas in which young researchers are working, and more broadly covered industrial partners. The academic community, experts, and representatives of 18 major high-tech companies will participate in the examination of works."
Throughout the week, similar meetings are planned for schoolchildren and students in the Meleuzovsky, Ishimbaysky, and Sterlitamak regions. These gatherings aim to introduce young people to modern professions and promising industries through open lessons on future technologies and professions. They will also have the chance to interact with employees and observe the operations of production sites.
Lenara Ivanova, Minister of Family, Labor, and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Bashkortostan, encouraged students to participate in the upcoming regional career event on April 18, 2025. She highlighted the current job market, stating, "Today, the labor market, both regional and all-Russian, is on the side of the seeker. Employers are more focused than ever on stimulating and attracting personnel, training future employees under specific requests from enterprises."
Ivanova also pointed out the strategic platforms for interaction between job seekers, educational systems, and businesses, including the All-Russian Job Fair and the Week without Turnstiles, which aim to promote youth employment and early career guidance. Last year, 3,300 residents of Bashkortostan found jobs directly at the Yarmarka Trudoustroystva and began working in local companies.
The events are organized by the Sistema Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Center for Advanced Professional Training of the Republic of Bashkortostan, with support from the Eurasian REC, JSC BESK, and JSC Holding ERSO. The collaborative efforts aim to create a robust framework for supporting young scientists and integrating their work into the local economy.
As the week unfolds, the focus remains on fostering connections between academia and industry, ensuring that the next generation of scientists is equipped to tackle the challenges of tomorrow. The initiatives not only enhance the prospects for young researchers but also aim to invigorate the high-tech sector in Bashkortostan, ultimately contributing to the region's economic development.
