New electric vehicles feature advanced technology and innovative designs, promising to reshape the market.

XPeng Motors and Lynk & Co have recently unveiled new electric vehicles set to make waves in the automotive market. With both companies showcasing cutting-edge technology and innovative designs, the XPeng X9 and Lynk & Co 900 launch promises to cater to the growing demand for electric mobility.

XPeng Motors announced the official export of the first 300 right-hand drive XPeng X9 vehicles to Thailand. The cars are scheduled to arrive at the ports by December 2024, with deliveries expected to commence between March and April 2025. Priced starting at 2.79 million baht, the XPeng X9 is positioned competitively within the Southeast Asian electric vehicle market, where the recommended retail price ranges from 3,598,000 to 4,198,000 baht.

The XPeng X9 features seating for seven arranged as 2+2+3, allowing for greater passenger comfort. Powering the vehicle is a single electric motor with maximum power output of 235 kW and peak torque of 450 Nm. It is paired with a 101.5 kWh battery, providing an estimated range of 720 kilometers based on the CLTC test standards. With right-hand drive specifications, the XPeng X9 aims to resonate effectively with Asian markets.

On the other hand, Lynk & Co has revealed key details about its forthcoming Lynk & Co 900 model, which will be the world’s first mass-produced vehicle equipped with the Nvidia Thor chip. With deep integration of DeepSeek technology, the 900 is set to redefine the driving experience. Scheduled for launch in the second quarter of 2024, this model features dual-chip technology allowing for efficient multitasking thanks to its 60 TOPS AI processing power.

The interior of the Lynk & Co 900 flaunts two 30-inch 6K resolution screens, offering immersive visuals backed by gold ratio design principles and Lehmann blue light certification to protect users' vision. These screens enable multiple functionalities, including split-screen capabilities, enhancing user interactions across various driving scenarios.

A standout feature of the Lynk & Co 900 is its interactive LED lighting system, comprising over 10,192 LEDs, which customize lighting for different activities, whether it’s welcoming passengers, driving, parking, or creating personalized ambience. According to sources, the vehicle continues Lynk & Co’s signature design language with unique “h” shaped daytime running lights and matrix high-low beam headlights, enhancing visibility and aesthetic appeal.

Dimensionally, the Lynk & Co 900 measures 5,240 mm in length, 1,999 mm wide, and stands 1,810 mm tall, with a spacious wheelbase stretching to 3,160 mm. The vehicle’s body incorporates hidden door handles, adhering to contemporary design trends, and offers two-part rear doors capable of supporting substantial loads of up to 300 kg.

Under the hood, car buyers can choose between two engine options. The 1.5T engine delivers up to 140 kW, whereas the more powerful 2.0T engine pushes out a maximum net output of 187 kW. To complement these engines, the chassis is equipped with dynamic suspension systems and CDC dampening control to provide superior driving comfort.

Both XPeng and Lynk & Co's new releases depict the growing emphasis on technology and the driving experience within electric vehicles. The market for electric cars continues to expand, and these manufacturers are strategically positioning themselves to meet consumer demands with their respective line-ups.

With the XPeng X9 offering extensive range and comfort, alongside the tech-forward Lynk & Co 900 aimed at futuristic transformation, these launches mark significant milestones for both companies and set high expectations for the growing electric vehicle segment.
