Xiaomi Launches HyperOS Updates With AI And New Features

The latest enhancements focus on integrating advanced AI capabilities and improving user experience across multiple Xiaomi devices.

Xiaomi has made significant strides with the recent updates to its HyperOS platform, integrating advanced artificial intelligence (AI) features aimed at enhancing user experience across multiple devices. The company's efforts, including the implementation of the DeepSeek-R1 model within its Super Xiaoai assistant, demonstrate its commitment to innovation and market leadership.

The first major update is the rollout of HyperOS 2.1, which is now available globally after an initial launch solely in China. This update seeks to improve performance, stability, and overall functionality for users of various Xiaomi devices. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is currently among the first to receive the update, featuring the version OS2.0.102.0.VNAEUXM. Improvements include new options for network connectivity and bug fixes targeting issues with wireless and mobile data connections. Significant enhancements have also been made to the notification panel and control center, allowing for greater personalization.

Notably, Xiaomi has updated several native applications with the latest HyperOS version, including the Gallery app, which now utilizes AI to showcase the most relevant content for users. While at present, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra appears to be the only device receiving this update, it is expected to be rolled out to additional devices soon.

On another front, Xiaomi is also actively testing the integration of AI features through its Super Xiaoai assistant using the DeepSeek-R1 model. This feature will enable users to perform complex tasks using voice commands—commands such as “open Deep Thinking” or “activate DeepSeek” are examples of this intuitive functionality. Such advancements mark Xiaomi's proactive response to competing brands like Huawei, OPPO, and Vivo, which are also implementing similar AI capabilities.

During the initial testing phase, users on Weibo reported on the new capabilities, indicating the potential for voice-to-text input alongside traditional typing methods. Xiaomi aims to make the Super Xiaoai assistant widely available to over 25 device models, including the premium Xiaomi 15 Pro and the recently launched Redmi K80 series, as well as various tablets.

Xiaomi's cautious approach to releasing these features prioritizes the reliability and quality of its AI systems, ensuring users have positive experiences when the functionalities are finally made publicly available. This consideration reflects the company's desire to establish itself firmly with high standards before competing directly with other technology giants.

Another notable feature of HyperOS is the Teleprompter tool introduced with HyperOS 2.0. Aimed at video creators, this feature allows users to record speeches and presentations without the need to memorize long texts. By aiding with text prompts scrolling on the phone screen, the Teleprompter lets speakers maintain eye contact with the camera, creating more engaging videos. This tool is particularly beneficial for those who get anxious speaking on camera or struggle to memorize scripts.

To access the Teleprompter, users simply need to open their camera application, navigate to the video option, and select the Teleprompter feature from the settings menu. Customization options allow users to adjust rolling speed, font size, and text color, enhancing the overall experience.

These updates collectively represent Xiaomi’s ambition to reshape its user interface with AI technology and multimedia enhancements. The integration of such features speaks volumes about Xiaomi’s position within the competitive smartphone market and its strategy to maintain relevance and innovation.

While Xiaomi has yet to announce specific release dates for these enhanced functionalities, the anticipation surrounding HyperOS developments is palpable. Users and tech enthusiasts alike seem eager to see how these advancements will align with their device experiences and whether they'll become industry standards.
