Wytec Proposes Advanced Gunshot Detection System For Texas Schools

Company aims to bolster safety across 1,207 Independent School Districts amid rising gun violence

Wytec International, Inc. is stepping up to address safety concerns across Texas by proposing its innovative AI Gunshot Detection System. On November 12, 2024, Wytec announced it had successfully submitted its response to the North Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) seeking qualified vendors to provide gunshot detection solutions to 1,207 Independent School Districts (ISDs) throughout the state. This initiative is particularly timely, considering the increasing frequency of gun-related incidents.

The NCTCOG's initiative is part of a broader effort to bolster security infrastructure in schools, colleges, public transit, and other localities impacted by rising gun violence. The solutions will soon be available through the TXShare Cooperative Purchasing Program, which aims to make it easier for entities to obtain these much-needed safety measures.

Wytec's response involved its patent-pending AI Gunshot Detection System, which has reported impressive results—over 90% accuracy based on data from more than 500,000 live samples and simulations. This system not only detects gunfire but is also equipped with advanced drug sensing technology, capable of identifying dangerous chemicals including Fentanyl, which has become increasingly problematic, particularly among young populations.

Robert Sanchez, the Chief Technology Officer of Wytec, expressed confidence in the potential of their technology to transform public safety measures across multiple sectors. He emphasized how these advancements could significantly benefit communities wary of crime. The urgency stems from the unfortunate reality of gun violence and drug-related incidents affecting schools and neighborhoods. Sanchez stated, “The Lemko Corporation will dramatically improve Wytec’s wireless expansion objective to assist in solving America’s growing gun violence and drug epidemic injuring our children and students within U.S. cities and on ISD properties.”

This partnership with Lemko Corporation enhances Wytec's ambitions, as they utilize more than 50 patents related to software-defined architectures. Lemko’s capabilities are expected to expand Wytec's reach and efficacy effectively, with all parties focusing on solutions to improve safety and protection for children.

“We are honored and extremely excited to be partnering with Wytec to deliver such important capability for our schools and communities,” said Brian Ponte, Lemko’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He highlighted their collaborative efforts to develop solutions aimed at enhancing security not just locally but potentially on international fronts as well.

The underlying technology driving these systems is part of Wytec's broader operations. The company is well-established as a developer of 5G networks, equipped with proprietary AI/sensor technology intended to address pressing public safety concerns, such as gunfire detection and drug sensing. Along with their efforts for gunshot detection, they are committed to implementing technologies for distance learning solutions, effectively tapping the state-of-the-art advancements for educational benefit.

To support their ambitious goals, Wytec is moving forward with its S-1 registration with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which is necessary for their plans to uplist on the Nasdaq Capital Markets. The registration not only secures $7 million immediately but also paves the way for access to $100 million through their Stock Subscription Facility (SSF) with Global Emerging Markets, which has been active on the global financial stage.

Ensuring financial backing is central to their plans, as these technological solutions require strong funding for development, implementation, and maintenance. This capital will allow Wytec to solidify its position within the highly competitive tech industry, especially as demand for public safety solutions continues to rise.

While there are uncertainties associated with the regulatory process of the S-1 registration, Wytec remains optimistic. The market for safety solutions is poised for growth, particularly as communities grapple with the realities of gun violence and the devastating effects of drug abuse.

Wytec's targeted approach highlights how modern technology can contribute to safety and security at all levels, from urban to rural settings. The combination of cutting-edge detection systems, proactive health measures, and community engagement creates a comprehensive strategy that's just as innovative but significantly necessary.

With both Wytec and Lemko working closely together, the expectations for improved responsiveness to emergencies are high. The collaboration not only promises benefit to Texas but aims to establish templates for other regions facing similar challenges with safety.

This initiative is seen as part of a growing movement where technology intersects with public safety, leading to innovative solutions born from necessity. The increasing reliance on AI and advanced sensors offers hope not just for immediate detection but also for longer-term solutions to the persistent issues surrounding gun violence and substance abuse.
