Edgerton Boys Basketball Extends Winning Streak Amid Strong Competition

MINNESOTA HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS RESULTS: WORTHINGTON GYMNASTICS SHINES AND EDGERTON BOYS BASKETBALL TRIUMPHANT

On January 30 and 31, 2025, Minnesota high school athletic events showcased dramatic competitions, shattering scores, and highlighting talented young athletes. Among the noteworthy results were the outstanding performances by Worthington's gymnastics team and Edgerton's boys basketball squad.

Worthington's gymnastics team faced off against Redwood Valley at the Redwood Falls facility, where they clinched victory with a score of 136.95 against Redwood Valley's 127.625. The Trojans dominated the meet, particularly showcased by their individual all-around performances. Jordis Weber led the team, finishing first with impressive all-around scoring of 33.8, closely followed by Lucy Thier at 33.675. Notably, Redwood Valley's Brynn Green capped off the event, scoring 33.525.

The highlights stretched across various apparatus, with Worthington securing five out of the top six scores on the bars. Jada Milbrath blazed through with the top score of 8.625, followed by Green's 8.4, showcasing formidable talent on both sides. On the beam, Kenadie Thiner’s score of 8.75 emerged as the highest, with Weber again close behind at 8.5. The gymnastics meet culminated with Milbrath claiming the floor exercise top spot through her stellar performance, earning 8.825.

The Worthington team is poised to continue their winning momentum as they prepare for their next match scheduled for Tuesday against Blue Earth Area at the Worthington Learning Center Gymnastics Facility.

Meanwhile, on the basketball court, Edgerton’s boys' team extended its winning streak to three games by defeating Murray County Central 61-47. An impressive turnaround saw Edgerton improving their record from starting the season at 2-4 to now boasting 11-9, highlighting their resilience throughout the year.

Reese Vande Griend stood out for the Flying Dutchmen with 18 points, along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. Teammates were equally effective, with Kami Smit contributing 15 points. Edgerton's win was particularly significant as they outscored the Rebels by 15 points during the second half.

Murray County Central fell to 7-13, with Ava Deacon leading their efforts with 15 points and 3 steals. Both teams showed flashes of talent and resilience, making upcoming matchups something to look forward to.

The sports scene was buzzing throughout Minnesota this week, with various basketball games taking place. These games featured fierce competition and talented athletes demonstrating their skill on the court. Across the state, other notable scores included scores from girls’ basketball, such as Luverne's 64-49 victory over Adrian-Ellsworth and Jackson County Central's thrilling win against Belle Plaine, ending 86-82.
