Wierna Małogoszcz Prepares For Spring Challenge

With new coach and players, the team aims for league survival after winter break.

The RS Active Fourth League Świętokrzyska is gearing up for its spring season, bringing excitement and anticipation among the local football community. The league, infamous for its competitive play and local rivalries, will see several teams vying for both promotion and survival, with players eager to showcase their talents after the winter break.

Leading the whispering debates among fans is Wierna Małogoszcz, currently struggling at the bottom of the league table with only 16 points from 17 matches. Under the previous coach, Mariusz Kośmidra, the team gathered its meager points total and secured the 14th position, four points clear of the relegation zone, led by Hetman Włoszczowa. With the winter break came significant changes for Wierna, as Coach Kośmidra was replaced by Grzegorz Opara, experienced from previous stints with various teams including Unia Sędziszów and GKS Nowiny.

"During my initial weeks, I focused on implementing a new style of play for the team as we move forward this spring," Coach Opara shared. His vision is clear: to secure enough points quickly to guarantee Wierna's survival for the next season. "We aim to provide ourselves with as much of a safety buffer as possible," he added.

The team’s preparation saw multiple changes, with several players departing and new talents arriving. Departures included Paweł Bandura, Brajan Branewicz, and Adam Marek, among others, who left the club for various teams, including Partyzanta Wodzisław and Korona II Kielce. Notably, Wierna signed three players: Kacper Gąsior, Karol Zwierzyński, and Bartłomiej Lasak from ŁKS Łągów, as well as Oliwier Szymkiewicz from Unia Sędziszów. Unfortunately, newcomer Michał Grudzień suffered a severe Achilles tendon injury and will be sidelined for the season.

While Wierna endeavors to gain traction, the rest of the league is also focused on establishing their positions. The opening matches of the spring season are slated for Saturday, where GKS Zio-Max Nowiny will face Spartakus Daleszyce, and Granat Skarżysko-Kamienna will play Hetman Włoszczowa. The following day, Alit Ożarów is set to challenge Wierna Małogoszcz, with kickoff scheduled for 1 PM.

With the league standings showing Sparta Kazimierza Wielka leading at 45 points, the intensity will only rise as teams jostle for the top spots and aim to avoid relegation. The competition is fierce, as teams recognize the need to secure their league standing for continuity.

The best scorers from the previous matches also remain hot topics among fans, with Jakub Rybus from Moravia Anna-Bud Morawica leading the charts with 18 goals. Close behind him are Tomasz Gaj of Spartakus Daleszyce and several others who have made their mark this season. The fans are eager for more as they gather to watch their teams clash on the pitch.

Among those attending these games are passionate supporters, especially those of Neptun Końskie, who will be participating against Naprzód Jędrzejów. Due to the poor state of the local pitch, this match has been moved to artificial turf at Nowiny. Bartłomiej Gad, President of Neptun Końskie, urges fans to attend: "We invite all Neptun supporters to join us for this thrilling matchup. This is our first league action after the winter break; don't miss it! We’re counting on your loud cheers and creating a fantastic atmosphere!" The excitement is palpable, and communities are coming together to revel in the lively spirit of football action.

With the spring season launching, the RS Active Fourth League Świętokrzyska promises to deliver exciting matches and engrossing rivalries as teams battle for glory. Football enthusiasts can expect plenty of action, intrigue, and passionate displays on the pitch as their favorite clubs fight for their places and strive for success.
