WhatsApp Launches Multi-Account Feature For IOS Users

The update allows users to manage multiple accounts easily, enhancing the overall user experience.

WhatsApp is set to transform the iOS user experience with the long-awaited multi-account feature. Already available on Android, this update will finally allow iPhone users to switch between multiple accounts effortlessly.

According to the latest beta version of WhatsApp for iOS, 25.2.10.70, the application introduces the ability to add and manage multiple accounts within a single app. Users can either set their device as the primary account or add a secondary account by scanning a QR code. "This feature is especially useful for those who need to juggle personal and professional accounts without the hassle of logging in and out repeatedly or relying on WhatsApp Business as a workaround," reported by [source name].

Each account operates independently, maintaining separate notifications, chats, backups, and settings. This clear separation ensures an intuitive experience, preventing any confusion between different accounts. With the gradual rollout of this feature, users will need to have a second phone number, either through a physical SIM card or eSIM, required for initial verification.

Currently, the feature is being tested through Apple’s TestFlight program, allowing developers to fine-tune the user experience before broader usage. Although there is no official release date yet, iPhone users managing multiple digital identities are eagerly awaiting its arrival.

This update is part of WhatsApp’s continuous enhancements to its platform. Recent additions include enhanced camera effects, customizable selfie stickers, and quick message reactions. Users can expect even more exciting features as WhatsApp continues to innovate.

On another note, WhatsApp is also notifying users about the deadline for support on older iPhones. Starting May 5, 2025, WhatsApp will discontinue support for iOS versions earlier than 15.1. The messaging app has long worked to support various iOS models, allowing users to enjoy its services widely. Yet, to improve user experiences and align with the latest technological advancements, the company is phasing out support for older iOS versions.

This transition means beta testers who are using outdated iPhones like the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and iPhone 5s will no longer have access to the latest app features and updates. "By raising the minimum iOS requirement, WhatsApp aims to leverage newer iOS features and technologies for an enhanced user experience," said [source name].

Once the phase-out begins, users on older iOS versions are advised to update their devices or switch to newer compatible iPhones. The App Store listing now reflects the requirement for iOS 15.1 or later for WhatsApp, and this applies to both the standard app and WhatsApp Business.

To install the latest beta version of WhatsApp on your iPhone, users should navigate to Settings, go to General > Software Update, and tap Install Now if the update is available. This will prepare their phones to run the newest version of the app once downloaded.

With these updates, WhatsApp is clearly responding to user demands and striving to provide enhanced functionality. The multi-account feature, combined with raising the iOS version minimum, emphasizes their commitment to maintaining reliability and consistency as part of their messaging service.

iPhone users managing diverse accounts are encouraged to embrace the new features, ensuring they remain at the forefront of WhatsApp’s continuous evolution.
