Wetherspoon Superfan Tattoos Chain's Name On Stomach

Tasha Bentley combines her love for Wetherspoon and metal music with iconic body art.

Wetherspoon Fan Showcases Dedication with Massive Tattoo

Tasha Bentley, 23, has become the talk of the town after she spent £500 on a massive tattoo of the pub chain Wetherspoon's name, boldly emblazoned across her stomach. The 1.6-foot-wide piece is not just mere ink; it combines her love for the popular British pub chain with her passion for metal music, making her the ultimate fan.

Located at The Painted Man tattoo parlour in Bolton, Greater Manchester, Bentley's tattoo features the Wetherspoon name written in five-inch tall death metal font. The process of getting the tattoo was not straightforward—it took over six months to complete. "When I saw it all done I nearly cried, it was like 'I've finally got it done', it was like I'd received good news," Bentley shared, reflecting on the emotions she felt once the tattoo was finished.

For many, Wetherspoon pubs represent fun, affordable gathering spots, and for Bentley, it's the place where she feels completely at ease. "It's affordable, there are lots of options, people at my local are friendly and I feel safe there, especially on my own," she said, highlighting why the chain has captured her heart. Recently, she's gained recognition for her tattoo after posting about it on social media, prompting friends and fellow pub-goers to express their surprise and admiration.

Bentley's tattoo decision came after she was tagged by friends on Facebook and saw the quirky design of the Wetherspoon name. "I wanted it as an underboob piece but because of how big it is and how my body sits, it looked messy and wouldn't have worked. It would have had to be cut off a little bit, so me and the artist decided to do it on my stomach instead," she explained.

Her love for the pub is not just for its affordable drinks, like her favorite cocktail, the Bumbu colada, but also for its vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. The combination of enjoying drinks with friendly patrons and feeling safe keeps her coming back. Bentley says, "I just love it. When I was 12, I was more about indie and pop-punk, but as I've grown up, I shifted to heavier music and discovered bands like Cannibal Corpse and Mötley Crüe, which also have iconic fonts."

It’s not just Bentley who has made headlines lately due to Wetherspoon. The pub chain itself has been under scrutiny recently due to potential price increases reported following Rachel Reeves's disaster budget, which has left many patrons concerned about the future pricing and affordability at their favorite hangout. Nevertheless, this doesn't seem to affect Bentley's enthusiasm, as she proudly walks around with her massive tattoo.

A noteworthy mention is Prince William, who has recently been spotted enjoying drinks at Wetherspoon, highlighting the chain's appeal across social classes. The royal was seen sharing pints with locals before attending his beloved Aston Villa football match. This kind of visibility likely generates more fans for the chain, similar to Bentley's adoration.

Despite challenges within the company, Bentley’s story paints a vivid picture of the communal love and affection people hold for Wetherspoon. From its affordable options to its relaxed atmosphere, Wetherspoon remains popular among multitudes. Bentley's tattoo is not just her personal milestone; it signifies the cultural imprint Wetherspoon has on its loyal clientele.

She notes with pride, "I reckon I'm one of Wetherspoon's biggest fans now I've got the name on me," referring to the tattoo as her favorite piece of body art. Bentley hopes to gain recognition from Wetherspoon’s management, maybe even snagging free whiskey on occasion. Certainly, Bentley’s devotion will continue to resonate within the Wetherspoon legacy, as she is now literally—and visibly—part of the brand's narrative, walking through life as the ultimate advertisement for the beloved pub chain.
