Wet Leg Announces Intimate Shows In NYC And LA

The Isle of Wight duo returns with new music after a three-year hiatus.

Wet Leg, the Isle of Wight duo that burst onto the music scene with their distinctive sound, have announced plans to kick off their new era with two intimate shows set to take place in New York and Los Angeles. These performances, marking the band’s first of 2025, follow closely on the heels of a 30-second teaser that offers fans a taste of their first new music in three years.

In a playful tone, the band reached out to fans via social media, stating, "Hey there neighbor been a while hasn’t it? why dont u come on down to the bottom of our garden? its about time we had ourselves a little gathering…just a couple of special nights in NYC and LA." The intimate shows are scheduled for March 31 at the Market Hotel in Brooklyn and April 8 at The River in Los Angeles, much to the delight of eager supporters.

Fans can also look forward to exclusive pre-sale access starting on March 28, providing an early chance to grab tickets to what promises to be unforgettable experiences. The announcement was made on March 17, 2025, when Wet Leg excitedly proclaimed, "We’re so back," alongside a photo and a link to their newly revamped website, signaling their eagerly awaited return. The website involved a quirky promotional touch, inviting visitors to enter a fictional realm described as “Moisturizer Valley – where the skin never cracks, and the body never withers.”

The shows come in the wake of Wet Leg’s Grammy Award-winning debut album, released in 2022. This self-titled album secured two accolades at the prestigious awards, taking home the honors for Best Alternative Music Album and Best Alternative Music Performance. Their artistic achievements didn’t stop there, as they also clinched the BRIT Award for Best British Group in 2023.

Reflecting on their unique journey, NME’s Rhian Daly beautifully captured the essence of Wet Leg in a previous review, describing their debut album as “a giddy race around a funfair,” a fitting connection to the fun and whimsical nature that the band embodies. The genesis of Wet Leg is described through the tale of frontwomen Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, who found their inspiration while riding a Ferris wheel at a festival, a moment that symbolized their desire to rekindle their passion for music.

In addition to these exciting shows, Wet Leg is gearing up for a bustling festival season lined up throughout 2025. Scheduled appearances include notable music events such as the Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta on May 3, Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Liverpool on May 25, Glastonbury Festival in Somerset on June 28, and several others including Roskilde Festival, TRNSMT Festival, and the Wilderness Festival, culminating in appearances at other major UK festivals like the Green Man Festival and Boardmasters.

The forthcoming shows in New York and Los Angeles, paired with their extensive festival lineup, marks a significant chapter in Wet Leg's trajectory, showcasing their evolution as artists ready to captivate audiences once again. As fans prepare to witness the duo’s return, excitement is buzzing in the air, anticipating what this new music will entail.

With a combination of cheeky charm and undeniable talent, Wet Leg is poised to take the stage and reaffirm their place at the forefront of the alternative music scene. Their approach to performance, which emphasizes an authentic connection with listeners, will surely make these upcoming shows a highlight in their continuous journey through the music industry.
