WEST. Tops Billboard Japan With New Album

The group's album marks their 11th release and celebrates their 10th anniversary with impressive sales numbers.

WEST. has made waves on the Billboard Japan weekly album sales chart, conquering the top position with their latest album, A.H.O. -Audio Hang Out-, recorded during the week of March 10 to March 16, 2025. Selling 188,974 copies, the album marks the group’s 11th full release, coinciding with their 10th anniversary.

The album is not only significant for being their 11th offering but also features popular singles such as "Heart," "FATE," and "Maicoca!" Each of these tracks continues to underline WEST.'s evolution as they blend familiar styles with fresh collaborations. Contributions from established artists like Kiyosaku of MONGOL800, along with Saifa Umeta, Shintaro Naooka & Takuto Ohara from Penthouse, and former Yana Waraba member Rio Higashino showcase the diversity and depth of their sound.

Initial reports from March 13 already indicated strong sales, with A.H.O. -Audio Hang Out- moving 163,917 copies by mid-week. The surge continued as demand ramped up, pushing the album’s final week sales to over 188,000 units, representing more than 100,000 sales above its closest competitor on the chart.

TREASURE, the South Korean boy band, landed at number two with their latest project, the special mini-album PLEASURE, which sold 88,088 copies. Previously ranked fourth, this release has now achieved over 100,000 cumulative sales, amassing 116,945 copies overall. Their climb highlights the tight competition among J-Pop and K-Pop artists for prominence.

At number three, LE SSERAFIM’s 5th mini-album HOT debuted with commendable sales of 74,949 copies. The flourishing group continues to gain momentum, appealing to fans eager for fresh content.

Following closely, WOLF, the first album from WOLF HOWL HARMONY, part of the EXILE TRIBE, debuted at number four, attracting 43,204 copies sold—a considerable success for their inaugural entry.

Lastly, the EP XV e.p. from MAN WITH A MISSION landed the fifth spot, featuring all new tracks and boasting 22,797 copies sold. The band’s distinctive sound and energetic performances keep them relevant as they contribute to the diverse fabric of the Japanese music scene.
