Wednesday Season 2 Teaser Drops Tomorrow With New Cast

Fans eagerly await the teaser trailer as Netflix reveals more about the darker, bolder upcoming season.

The wait has been torture, but fans of Netflix's hit series Wednesday have something to celebrate. The streaming giant has unveiled the official poster for Season 2, along with a promise that the highly anticipated teaser trailer will drop on April 23, 2025. Star Jenna Ortega returns as the iconic Wednesday Addams, and she's hinted that this season will be bolder, darker, and more horror-heavy than its predecessor.

Wednesday, which follows the teenage daughter of Gomez and Morticia Addams as she navigates her years at Nevermore Academy, is described as a "sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery." This season, viewers can expect Wednesday to tackle her emerging psychic abilities, confront a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and unravel a supernatural mystery involving her parents from 25 years ago.

The show's creators, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, are back as writers and showrunners, with Tim Burton serving as executive producer and directing several episodes. In a previous interview, Ortega teased that one episode in particular will follow a slasher formula, drawing inspiration from classic horror films like Carrie and Prom Night.

Returning alongside Ortega are familiar faces including Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams. The cast also sees the addition of Lady Gaga, who is reportedly set for a guest appearance. Other returning characters include Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair, Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay, Moosa Mostafa as Eugene, and Georgie Farmer as Ajax. The series regulars now include Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor.

Among the new cast members are notable names such as Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O'Connor, and Haley Joel Osment, all of whom will guest star in the upcoming season. The official poster showcases a darker aesthetic, aligning with the show's promise to delve deeper into horror themes.

Emma Myers, who portrays Enid, expressed her initial apprehension about returning for Season 2, stating, "I was kind of scared to go back because I remember watching scenes of myself from Season 1 and being like, 'I don't know if I can re-create this now.' But when we got to the table read, it immediately came back like nothing had changed." Myers also noted that her character has evolved over the summer, becoming more confident and capable.

Ortega echoed Myers' sentiments, mentioning how Wednesday, despite her stoic demeanor, has developed a friendship with Enid. "It's interesting how, while Wednesday will never admit it if she doesn't have to, she really does have a friend," Ortega remarked.

The production for Season 2 began in Ireland last May and wrapped up at the end of November. Netflix has confirmed that the new episodes will begin streaming sometime in 2025.

As fans eagerly await the teaser trailer, the excitement surrounding Wednesday Season 2 continues to grow. The combination of returning favorites and new faces, along with the promise of a darker and more thrilling storyline, sets the stage for what could be a groundbreaking season in the series' journey.

With the teaser set to drop soon, fans are left to speculate about the twists and turns that await Wednesday and her friends at Nevermore Academy. Will she be able to master her psychic abilities in time to stop the terror that has gripped her town? The answers may lie just a click away when the teaser is finally revealed.
