Weather Forecast: Mixed Conditions Across Middle East On March 23

Regions in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Oman brace for thunderstorms, fog, and temperature variations this Sunday.

The National Center for Meteorology in Saudi Arabia has issued its weather forecast for Sunday, March 23, 2025, predicting continued rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and hail across several regions. These include areas of the Eastern Province, Riyadh, Najran, Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and Makkah, which could experience reduced visibility due to the weather conditions.

According to their latest report, surface winds are expected to stir up dust and reduce visibility in parts of the Qassim and Medina regions, as well as along coastal areas of the Tabuk region. As for the temperatures, Makkah is forecasted to reach a high of 29°C and a low of 18°C, while Riyadh will experience highs of 22°C and lows of 16°C. Other cities are expected to see the following temperatures: Jeddah at 27°C (low 18°C), Dammam at 23°C (low 19°C), Abha at 20°C (low 13°C), and Najran at 31°C (low 19°C).

Meanwhile, in Egypt, weather experts have forecasted moderate weather conditions in the Greater Cairo area, the northern coasts, and northern Upper Egypt for the same day. They also noted a significant drop in temperatures expected at night and early morning, which could lead to fog on some roads. The Mediterranean Sea is anticipated to have moderate waves ranging from 1 to 1.5 meters, with surface winds blowing from the northwest to the northeast.

In summary of anticipated temperatures in Egypt: Cairo will record a high of 22°C and a low of 14°C, while Alexandria is expected to see highs of 21°C and lows of 12°C. Aswan is predicted to be the warmest with highs reaching 27°C and lows down to 12°C.

In Oman, meteorological authorities are also providing updates regarding the expected weather. They report similar weather conditions as those in Saudi Arabia and Egypt, with localized rainfall and temperature variations across the regions.

The General Authority for Meteorology in Egypt has shared that this coming week, from March 23 to March 28, will witness moderate temperatures across the country, with projections indicating fog formation in the mornings along agricultural roads and highways due to cooler nighttime conditions.
