The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has officially announced that the results of the Madhyamik Pariksha (Secondary Examination) 2025 will be declared on May 2, 2025, at 9:00 AM. The results will be revealed during a press conference led by the President of the Ad-hoc Committee, WBBSE, as stated in a press note issued on Wednesday. Students will be able to access their results from 9:45 AM onwards on May 2 via multiple official websites and mobile applications.
Schools will also be able to collect mark sheets and certificates from their respective camp offices of the Board starting at 10:00 AM on the same day. The official websites where students can check their results include www.wbbse.wb.gov.in and www.wbresults.nic.in.
To download their results, students can follow these steps: first, visit the official result portal; then, find and click the link that says "West Bengal Madhyamik Result 2025". After that, they should enter their roll number and date of birth as mentioned on their admit card. Finally, clicking the submit button will display their results, which they can download and print for future reference.
The WBBSE Madhyamik Class 10th exams were conducted from February 10 to February 22, 2025, with assessments related to Physical Education and Social Service as well as Work Education continuing from March 19 until April 2, 2025. This year, a total of 9,84,894 students participated in the exams, which is an increase of 62,000 candidates compared to last year. The exams were conducted at 2,683 centers across the state, marking a significant turnout.
In terms of gender representation, the number of female candidates was notably high, with 5,55,950 girls appearing for the examination out of a total of 9,84,753 candidates. This statistic reflects a growing trend in female education within the state.
Looking back at previous years, the WBBSE announced the Madhyamik results on May 2, 2024, with a pass percentage of 83.61%. Kalimpong emerged as the best-performing district that year, boasting an impressive overall pass percentage of 96.26%. The state topper was Chandrachur Sen from Cooch Behar, who achieved a remarkable score of 99%. In 2023, the results were declared on May 19, with an overall pass percentage of 86.15%, and Shyamapriya Guru topping the exams with a score of 98.86%.
This year, the WBBSE will also publish a merit list featuring the top 10 positions alongside the results. This is a much-anticipated aspect of the results announcement, as it highlights the achievements of the highest-performing students.
