VITM Hanoi 2025 Brings Focus On Green Tourism And Technology

The International Tourism Fair aims to promote sustainable travel and showcase technological innovations in the sector.

The International Tourism Fair in Hanoi, known as VITM Hanoi 2025, is set to showcase advancements in technology and green tourism from April 10 to April 13, 2025. The event, hosted at the ICE Hanoi International Exhibition Center, aims to promote sustainable travel with the theme 'Developing Green Destinations, Elevating Vietnam Tourism.'

The Vietnam Tourism Association announced on March 25, 2025, that the fair will feature 450 booths, attracting participation from 60 tourism promotion agencies from both domestic and international regions, as well as eight airlines from 16 countries and territories, and over 600 businesses.

Last year's fair, VITM Hanoi 2024, focused on the theme 'Vietnam Tourism: Green Transformation for Sustainable Development.' This year, the emphasis continues on advancing green tourism practices and showcasing attractive green tourism products. Cao Thi Ngoc Lan, the Deputy Chairwoman of the Vietnam Tourism Association, expressed that this year's event is a continued effort toward responsible travel practices that align with environmental conservation.

Phạm Văn Thủy, the Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, highlighted the importance of the fair in reaching Vietnam's goal of welcoming 23 million international visitors. He stated, 'With the government's visa exemption policy rolling out recently, along with major promotional activities like the VITM Hanoi 2025 fair, Vietnam's tourism sector can expect to achieve this ambitious target.'

Among the highlights of VITM Hanoi 2025 will be the introduction of booths that focus on technology, including AI and robotics aimed at enhancing customer service in hotels and tourism services. Visitors will have the opportunity to engage with new technologies and participate in workshops centered around digital transformation in the tourism industry.

The fair will consist of numerous activities, including business-to-business (B2B) engagements as well as business-to-consumer (B2C) interactions, facilitating connections between tourism businesses and consumers. The event is set to feature attractions like local OCOP (One Commune One Product) products and a variety of promotional offers on tours, airline tickets, and hotel accommodations.

The central forum of VITM Hanoi 2025, titled 'Developing Green Destinations, Elevating Vietnam Tourism,' is scheduled for the morning of April 11, 2025. The forum is expected to attract approximately 200 to 300 delegates, discussing innovative ideas for establishing Vietnam as a prominent green tourism destination.

In line with the forum, an award ceremony will honor outstanding businesses and individuals in Vietnam's tourism sector in 2024. This event aims to recognize and celebrate those who have made significant contributions to enhancing the country's tourism reputation.

The fair will feature cultural performances from both domestic and international artists, showcasing the rich heritage and diversity of Vietnam's tourism culture. Engaging experiences such as the tuna fishing demonstration from Phú Yên and performances from various international groups will augment the event's offering, creating a vibrant atmosphere.

For attendees seeking deals, Vietnam Airlines has announced substantial discounts, with promotional gift packages potentially offering reductions of up to 70%. For travelers purchasing directly at the counter, domestic tickets will be discounted by about 15%, while international tickets will see reductions of approximately 30%.

Overall, VITM Hanoi 2025 promises to be a pivotal event in bolstering Vietnam tourism's future, emphasizing sustainable practices while leveraging technology to enhance visitor experience. The fair will serve not just as an exhibition but as a collaborative platform fostering partnerships and sustainable growth within the industry. Vietnam's push towards green tourism is expected to not only attract more visitors but also position the country as a leader in sustainable travel in the region.
