Violent Brawl Erupts On Tenerife's Avenida Marítima

Emergency services respond to multiple injuries after 30-person altercation.

A violent brawl erupted early Sunday morning on Avenida Marítima de Puerto Santiago, Santiago del Teide, leaving four people injured, three of whom required hospitalization. The incident, reported at approximately 04:03 hours, involved around 30 individuals according to alerts received by the Centro Coordinador de Emergencias y Seguridad (CECOES) 112 of the Canary Islands government.

The brawl occurred outside of a leisure venue, where emergency services quickly mobilized to assess the situation. Two men sustained moderate stab wounds to the chest and were transported via ambulance to both Hospital del Sur and Hospital Universitario Hospiten Sur. Another man received treatment for a superficial contusion and minor bruises, then was taken to the Adeje Health Center.

The fourth individual, who suffered from mild anxiety, declined to be transported to a medical facility. Emergency responders' quick reaction was noted, with CECOES activating multiple resources including three ambulances from the Servicio de Urgencias Canario (SUC).

Local police collaborated alongside the Guardia Civil, which took charge of the matter to investigate the origins of the assault and to establish potential criminal responsibilities among those involved. Residents expressed their concerns over safety, calling for greater surveillance to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.

The incident has generated considerable alarm among community members who fear for their security. Witnesses reported hearing shouting and chaos as the fight unfolded, illustrating the potential for such gatherings to turn violent.
