Clashes erupted this week in Amsterdam as supporters of the Israeli soccer club Maccabi Tel Aviv clashed with pro-Palestinian demonstrators around the time of the Europa League match between Ajax and Maccabi Tel Aviv. The situation began to escalate on Wednesday when Israeli fans removed a Palestinian flag from outside of a house located near the city center. The following night, clashes intensified as the soccer match was taking place, drawing supporters from both sides to the streets.
