As the April 30 holiday approaches, popular destinations see a surge in interest among Vietnamese tourists.

The upcoming holiday from April 30 to May 1, 2025, is set to be a bustling time for Vietnamese travelers, with many planning trips during this extended five-day break. According to a report from Booking.com, 41% of Vietnamese tourists have expressed intentions to travel during this holiday period, leading to a notable surge in both domestic and international travel demand.

As the 2025 Travel Trends Report from Booking.com reveals, 65% of Vietnamese travelers prioritize destinations with pleasant weather when organizing their trips. This preference significantly contributes to the popularity of locations like Da Nang and Da Lat, both renowned for their agreeable climates. Coastal destinations such as Da Nang, Vung Tau, and Nha Trang continue to be top choices for those seeking a relaxing beach getaway.

Booking.com has released a list of the most searched domestic destinations by Vietnamese travelers for the holiday from April 30 to May 4, 2025. The top ten spots include Da Nang, Da Lat, Vung Tau, Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Phu Quoc, Ha Long, Hanoi, and Hoi An. Notably, Da Nang stands out as the leading destination not only for families but also for couples and solo travelers.

For those traveling alone, the preference leans towards familiar and easily accessible cities. Da Nang again takes the lead, followed by Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Nha Trang, and Da Lat. These destinations are favored for short getaways or staycations, providing a mix of relaxation and adventure.

Couples seeking romantic escapes are drawn to picturesque locations like Da Lat and Vung Tau, which offer stunning sunset views and rich culinary experiences. The top five domestic destinations searched by couples for trips from April 30 to May 4, 2025, are Da Lat, Da Nang, Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City, and Nha Trang.

Families, comprising 53% of Vietnamese tourists planning trips this year, tend to favor destinations that offer convenience and family-friendly activities. Da Nang, Da Lat, and Nha Trang emerge as the most popular choices for family vacations, with the top five destinations being Da Nang, Da Lat, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, and Ha Long.

On the international front, the Asia-Pacific region remains a favored choice for Vietnamese travelers. The list of the ten most searched international destinations from April 30 to May 4, 2025, includes Bangkok, Seoul, Tokyo, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Hong Kong, Osaka, Shanghai, and Sydney. Each of these cities offers a unique blend of cultural diversity and scenic beauty, making them attractive for holiday travelers.

According to Booking.com’s 2025 Travel Trends, 42% of Vietnamese tourists plan to travel abroad alone this year. This growing trend is reflected in the increased searches for solo travel during the holiday period. Bangkok leads the pack for solo travelers, followed by Tokyo and Seoul.

Couples also show a preference for nearby destinations that are ideal for shared experiences, with Bangkok, Seoul, Tokyo, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur topping their lists. These cities are known for their romantic ambiance, vibrant shopping centers, and exceptional culinary offerings, perfect for couples looking to create memorable moments together.

Families tend to prioritize destinations that provide entertainment for both children and adults. Bangkok, Tokyo, and Singapore emerge as prime choices for families during this extended holiday.

As the holiday approaches, Da Nang is gearing up for an influx of tourists. The city is expected to be a vibrant hub of activity, with many travel agencies confirming that the April 30 and May 1 holidays, along with the summer season, are peak periods for tourism in Vietnam.

Travelers to Da Nang can look forward to a variety of accommodations catering to different preferences. Coastal resorts and high-end hotels are popular among families and those seeking a relaxing vacation. To enhance the visitor experience, Sun Group is introducing new facilities, including cable line number 8 and a new buffet restaurant that can accommodate up to 10,000 guests simultaneously.

Sun Group’s General Director, Huỳnh Nam Thắng, emphasized the importance of preparing for the expected surge in visitors, stating, "To serve tourists well during this period, we will put into operation cable line number 8 and are investing in building cable line number 10, which can serve 8,000 to 10,000 guests per hour, increasing the total number of guests per day at Ba Na Hills to nearly 40,000." This expansion aims to ensure that the facilities can handle the anticipated tourist influx effectively.

Additionally, the company is enhancing beach experience offerings, including beach activities like swimming, snorkeling, and boat tours, while also expanding trekking tours to explore the Son Tra Peninsula. Nguyen Thanh Tam, General Director of Viet An Group, noted that they are proactively ensuring the best service for both domestic and international tourists in Da Nang.

"We will increase manpower and thoroughly check all canoes and diving equipment to meet the high demand during the holiday. With the trend of green, safe, and sustainable tourism, we are integrating environmental protection activities, encouraging tourists to join in preserving nature while participating in tours," Tam added.

As the holiday approaches, the excitement among Vietnamese travelers is palpable. With diverse travel options available, from serene beach getaways to culturally rich city explorations, the April 30 to May 1 holiday promises to be an extraordinary time for those embarking on their adventures.
