The upcoming holiday from April 30 to May 1 presents a golden opportunity for Vietnamese tourists to plan their dream trips. This holiday is one of the longest of the year, lasting up to five days, and it has sparked a significant surge in travel interest both domestically and internationally. According to a recent report from Booking.com, 41% of Vietnamese tourists have expressed their intention to travel during this holiday season.

Booking.com has released a list of the most sought-after destinations by Vietnamese travelers for the period from April 30 to May 4, 2025. This data reveals some intriguing trends in travel preferences among various groups, including solo travelers, couples, and families.

When it comes to domestic travel, the report highlights that 65% of Vietnamese tourists prioritize destinations with favorable weather conditions. This preference explains the enduring popularity of places like Da Nang and Da Lat, both renowned for their pleasant climates. Coastal destinations such as Da Nang, Vung Tau, and Nha Trang remain top choices for those seeking a relaxing beach getaway. Meanwhile, cities rich in heritage, including Da Lat, Hue, and Hanoi, are also highly ranked among travelers interested in exploring the country’s rich history and vibrant culture.

For the upcoming holiday, the most searched domestic destinations by Vietnamese tourists include Da Nang, Da Lat, Vung Tau, and Hue. Notably, Da Nang tops the list, followed closely by Da Lat and Vung Tau. Hue ranks sixth, while Hoi An comes in at tenth place, showcasing the diverse interests of travelers.

Focusing on solo travelers, they tend to favor familiar and easily accessible cities. The top five domestic destinations searched by solo travelers from April 30 to May 4, 2025, are Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Nha Trang, and Da Lat. These locations are ideal for short getaways or staycations, providing both convenience and comfort.

Couples, on the other hand, are drawn to romantic destinations. Places like Da Lat and Vung Tau, known for their stunning sunsets and rich culinary experiences, are particularly appealing. The top five domestic destinations searched by Vietnamese couples for trips during this holiday period include Da Lat, Da Nang, Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City, and Nha Trang. These locations provide the perfect backdrop for couples to create sweet memories together.

Families also have their unique preferences when it comes to travel. With 53% of Vietnamese tourists planning family trips this year, destinations like Da Nang, Da Lat, and Nha Trang are gaining popularity. These locations combine convenience, relaxation, and a variety of activities suitable for all family members, making them ideal choices for family vacations.

As for international travel, the Asia-Pacific region continues to captivate Vietnamese tourists with its diverse culture and natural beauty. All ten of the most searched international cities have seen growth compared to the previous year, indicating that nearby destinations remain highly favored. Bangkok (Thailand), Seoul (South Korea), and Tokyo (Japan) are the top three destinations for this long holiday. Notably, Shanghai has made its debut in the top ten, reflecting a growing interest in culturally rich locations that are easily accessible.

According to Booking.com’s 2025 Travel Trends, 42% of Vietnamese tourists plan to travel abroad alone this year. This trend is evident in the increased search interest for solo travel during the April 30 – May 1 holiday. Bangkok leads the list of most sought-after destinations for solo travelers, followed by Tokyo and Seoul.

Couples looking for nearby getaways are also prioritizing romantic destinations, with Bangkok, Seoul, Tokyo, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur topping their lists. These cities are famous for their lively atmospheres, bustling shopping centers, and exceptional cuisine, making them perfect for couples to enjoy memorable experiences together during the holiday.

Families, too, are focusing on destinations that offer entertainment and convenience for both children and adults. Bangkok, Tokyo, and Singapore are the leading choices for families during this extended holiday, providing a balanced mix of fun and relaxation.
