Vietnamese Businesses Set For Trade Mission In Europe

Delegation aims to boost exports and connect with European markets

Vietnamese businesses are set to embark on a significant trade promotion and investment delegation to the Netherlands and Belgium from June 2 to June 10, 2025. This initiative aims to create opportunities for Vietnamese companies to expand their export markets, seek new orders, and directly engage with the wholesale and retail systems in these European nations.

The delegation will visit key cities including Amsterdam, The Hague, and Brussels, focusing on various sectors. The initiative prioritizes agricultural, forestry, and fishery products, as well as food, textiles, footwear, wood and wood products, rubber products, plastics, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, and machinery. Aiming to include 20 to 25 agencies, organizations, and businesses, this program seeks to bolster Vietnam's trade relations with both countries.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, each selected enterprise, Trade Promotion Center, and industry association will receive state support for either a full or partial round-trip airfare from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City to the Netherlands or Belgium. Additionally, the cost of organizing trade conferences during the trip will also be covered in accordance with regulations outlined in Circular No. 11/2019/TT-BCT, dated July 30, 2019.

After the program, participating businesses will continue to receive assistance from the Trade Promotion Department in connecting with potential partners in the Netherlands and Belgium, tailored to their specific needs.

In a related development, Vietnam's cashew nut exports to the Netherlands have shown remarkable growth in the first quarter of 2025. Preliminary statistics from the General Department of Customs reveal that Vietnam exported nearly 12,000 tons of cashew nuts to the Netherlands, achieving a turnover of $85.5 million. This marks a significant increase of 16.7% in volume and a staggering 49% in value compared to the same period in 2024.

The share of cashew nut exports to the Netherlands has also risen notably, climbing from 6.8% to 9.8% of the total export volume in the first quarter of 2025. The W320 cashew nuts have remained the leading product, accounting for 84.1% of the total export volume to the Netherlands in the first two months of 2025, with a total of 6,073 tons worth $42.2 million. This represents increases of 23.4% in volume and 49.1% in value compared to the previous year.

Moreover, the average export price for cashew nuts to the Netherlands in the first two months of 2025 reached $7,034 per ton, which is an increase of 25.2% compared to the same period in 2024. Specifically, in January 2025, the average price hit $7,138 per ton, reflecting an 18.1% rise from January 2024.

Experts suggest that the growth in cashew exports to the Netherlands indicates an improvement in the competitiveness of Vietnamese cashew nuts, particularly in terms of quality, packaging, and the ability to meet high market standards. These growth figures also mirror a broader trend of healthy consumption patterns emerging across Europe, where cashews are increasingly favored as a snack and as an ingredient in functional food products.

As the Vietnamese government continues to support its businesses in international markets, the upcoming delegation to the Netherlands and Belgium is expected to further strengthen trade ties and enhance the visibility of Vietnamese products in Europe. Interested businesses are encouraged to register for participation in the delegation through the designated link or contact the Trade Promotion Center and Investment Support Center for more information.

In conclusion, the combination of direct trade initiatives and the impressive growth of specific export products like cashew nuts showcases Vietnam's commitment to enhancing its global trade footprint and fostering robust economic relationships with key European markets.
