Vietnam Showcases Smart Sustainable Building Innovations 2025

Major exhibitions in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City highlight new technologies and global partnerships driving Vietnam’s construction sector toward efficiency and sustainability.

Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City—Two of Vietnam’s largest cities—were abuzz last week as the country’s construction and building materials industry took center stage at two major exhibitions: Vietbuild 2025 in Hanoi and the Vietnam Interior & Build Exhibition 2025 (VIBE 2025) in Ho Chi Minh City. Both events showcased the latest innovations in sustainable technology, energy efficiency, and smart urban living, drawing an impressive array of local and international brands, government officials, and industry leaders.

At Vietbuild 2025, which wrapped up on October 4, X-Line Vietnam made headlines by introducing its cutting-edge Heat Pump water heater technology. According to CafeF, X-Line’s booth became a focal point at the exhibition, attracting not only professional customers but also high-level delegates from the Ministry of Construction, including Minister Tran Hong Minh and Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh. The company spotlighted two flagship product lines: the PANZER and CHOFU branded Heat Pump water heaters, both promising high efficiency, energy savings, safety, and environmental protection.

The PANZER brand, a familiar name in Vietnam for nearly a decade, has supplied hot water solutions to a diverse range of projects—from luxury villas and high-rise buildings to hospitals, golf courses, resorts, and five-star hotels. Its wide range of capacities serves both residential and large-scale commercial needs. Meanwhile, CHOFU, a top Japanese manufacturer, made a strong impression by presenting its advanced CO2 Heat Pump water heaters. These systems are lauded for their energy-saving and eco-friendly features, further cementing CHOFU’s reputation for quality and innovation.

Perhaps the most notable moment at Vietbuild 2025 was the personal appearance of Yasuo Kawakami, Chairman of Chofu Seisakusho. As reported by CafeF, Mr. Kawakami traveled from Japan to engage directly with Vietnamese customers and business partners. His presence underscored Chofu’s commitment to the Vietnamese market and offered a rare chance for local stakeholders to communicate directly with the leadership of a global industry giant.

Following the exhibition, X-Line and Chofu announced ambitious plans to expand their cooperation. The two companies pledged to bring Japanese-standard CO2 Heat Pump water heaters to more Vietnamese consumers and investors, with a detailed roadmap focusing on nationwide training for agents. This initiative aims to ensure consistent product quality and installation advice aligned with Chofu’s rigorous Japanese standards. As Nguyen Thi My Linh, X-Line’s General Director, shared, "Vietnam is experiencing strong demand for efficient and sustainable energy solutions. Through our close partnership with CHOFU, we are committed to delivering CO2 Heat Pump water heaters with Japanese-standard quality and service, which not only save energy but also help protect the environment."

The synergy between X-Line’s deep understanding of the local market and Chofu’s world-leading technology is expected to spark a breakthrough in Vietnam’s hot water solutions sector. With the government’s push for energy efficiency and environmental protection, these innovations arrive at a pivotal moment for the country’s urban and industrial development.

Meanwhile, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Interior & Build Exhibition 2025 (VIBE 2025) unfolded from October 1 to 4 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center. Henkel, the global adhesives and coatings leader, took the opportunity to further its reputation as a pioneer in sustainable construction solutions. According to VnEconomy, Henkel’s open-concept booth offered visitors hands-on experiences and live demonstrations of its Loctite brand’s industrial adhesives and coatings—a clear nod to the event’s theme, "Next in Space."

VIBE 2025 brought together over 300 booths from both domestic and international brands, along with thousands of architects, contractors, and specialists. The exhibition focused on shaping the future of living spaces through three core values: sustainability, intelligence, and style. Henkel’s Loctite products were highlighted as embodying all three. For sustainability, Loctite’s protective coatings—such as Loctite 7321 A-B—were praised for their resistance to wear and chemicals, extending the lifespan of surfaces and reducing maintenance costs. The company also showcased high-elasticity sealants like Teroson MS 930/939, which are UV- and weather-resistant, solvent-free, and safe for users, helping to decrease VOC emissions and maintain long-term durability.

On the intelligence front, Henkel introduced solutions for complex construction needs, such as Loctite 243 threadlocker, which secures bolts and nuts against loosening from vibration or high temperatures. Loctite 55 thread sealing cord was also demonstrated, providing instant sealing for gas and water pipes and earning NSF/ANSI 61 certification—an important benchmark for safety and reliability in water systems. These innovations are designed to streamline maintenance and boost operational efficiency, key concerns in modern building management.

Style was not left behind. Loctite 401, a fast-bonding adhesive for multiple materials, was presented as the go-to choice for achieving seamless, durable, and aesthetically refined finishes in modern urban projects. "Henkel believes that a modern building should be technically robust and harmoniously blend function, aesthetics, and sustainability. With advanced adhesive and coating solutions from Loctite, we hope to support Vietnam’s architecture and construction community in creating efficient, environmentally friendly living spaces," a Henkel representative told VnEconomy.

Both Vietbuild and VIBE 2025 took place against a backdrop of rapid change in Vietnam’s urban landscape. The country is undergoing significant administrative reform, with new approaches to urban planning, infrastructure investment, and digital space organization. The urbanization rate is expected to hit 50% by 2030, and Vietnam’s commitment to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050 is pushing the construction sector toward smarter, greener, and more sustainable practices.

As these exhibitions demonstrated, the Vietnamese construction industry is not just keeping pace with global trends—it’s helping to set them. The strategic partnerships, innovative products, and forward-thinking approaches on display signal a new era for Vietnam’s built environment, one where efficiency, sustainability, and style go hand in hand. For consumers, investors, and industry professionals alike, the future of Vietnamese living spaces looks brighter—and smarter—than ever.

With government support, international collaboration, and a clear commitment to sustainability, Vietnam’s construction sector is poised for transformation. The innovations introduced at Vietbuild and VIBE 2025 may well become the blueprint for the country’s next generation of buildings and urban spaces.
