As Vietnam approaches the 2025 high school graduation exam, the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) has outlined a detailed registration process to facilitate seamless participation for 12th-grade students. Starting from April 10 to April 15, schools will create and assign accounts to students, gearing up for the crucial exam period. The official online registration opens on April 21 and will conclude by 5 PM on April 28, 2025.
The high school graduation exam itself is scheduled for June 26 and 27, 2025. The MoET emphasizes that students need to be well-prepared not only for the academic challenges ahead but also for the operational requirements for registration. "High school graduation examination will take place from June 25 to June 28, 2025," the MoET confirmed.
In preparation for this exam, schools across Vietnam will conduct a trial online registration from April 15 to April 18, allowing students to familiarize themselves with the exam management system. This aids in streamlining the process and addressing any potential issues before the formal registration period begins.
Another significant requirement for all students is that their photographs uploaded onto the system must adhere to specific guidelines. "Student photos on the system must ensure a minimum resolution of 400x600 pixels, taken in ID card style and no more than 6 months before the submission time," a statement from the MoET reiterated.
This year's examination process distinguishes between students following the old 2006 education program and those under the current 2018 program. Students under the old program will be required to complete five subjects, including three independent tests in Mathematics, Literature, and English, alongside a combined test comprising either natural sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) or social sciences (History, Geography, Civic Education). The number of sessions for these exams is four.
Conversely, those under the 2018 program will have a more streamlined examination schedule consisting of four subjects across three sessions: two compulsory tests (Mathematics and Literature) and two elective tests, with students selecting from subjects on their 12th-grade curriculum.
The MoET has also noted that for online registration and admission considerations, all candidates must utilize one unified personal identification document throughout the process. This can be an ID card, a citizen identification card, or a passport number. "Candidates must use a unified personal identification document, which can be an ID card/citizen identification card/identification/passport number," stressed MoET officials.
To ensure a smooth execution of the exams, local Departments of Education and Training (DoET) will be responsible for organizing registration locations, allowing for in-person submissions in addition to the online process. This dual mode of registration is designed to accommodate all students, making it easier for them to participate based on their circumstances. There are also considerations for preference declarations on the university admission software that students need to complete accurately to utilize advantages during the university assessment process.
As the examination dates draw closer, the emphasis on adherence to these regulations as well as preparedness in terms of academics becomes increasingly vital for students. Parents and educators are urged to ensure that students are fully informed and ready to fulfill all registration conditions.
In summary, the 2025 high school graduation exam is a significant event for Vietnamese students. With the MoET’s structured guidelines for registration and examination logistics, a smooth and organized experience is anticipated for all candidates. As the nation gears up for this critical educational milestone, ensuring that every student is adequately prepared will be key to their academic and future success.
