The Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam has announced the recruitment of 20 full scholarships for Vietnamese citizens to study in Poland under the Agreement program for the year 2025. This initiative aims to enhance educational opportunities for students in various fields, although it does come with specific conditions and requirements.
According to the announcement, the scholarships will cover various academic levels, including undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs. The duration for undergraduate studies ranges from 3 to 4 academic years, while master's programs typically last for 2 years, and doctoral programs can take between 3 to 4 years to complete. Importantly, all programs exclude an additional year dedicated to a Polish language preparatory course, which is mandatory for candidates who have not previously studied in Poland.
One of the key aspects of this scholarship program is that the Polish government will waive tuition and research fees for selected candidates. Additionally, accommodation will be arranged in dormitories, although students will be required to pay for this service. The Vietnamese government will also support students by providing round-trip airfare, fees for passports and visas, health insurance, and a monthly living allowance in accordance with current regulations for scholarship students in Poland.
However, candidates should note that the Polish government does not accept applications for programs in fields related to medicine, pharmacy, or the arts. The language of instruction and research during the study will be Polish. Therefore, candidates who have never pursued higher education in Poland will be required to complete a one-year Polish language preparatory course before they can begin their specialized studies.
Once the candidates have completed the language preparation, they must pass a Polish language proficiency test to qualify for their chosen programs. Additionally, for specialized courses, candidates will need to achieve satisfactory results in an entrance exam that varies depending on the specific requirements of the educational institution and the program they wish to pursue.
In terms of eligibility, candidates must possess good political and ethical qualities, as well as sufficient health to study abroad. Those found to have health issues due to falsified documents will have to return to Vietnam and bear all related costs, including airfare and compensation for the training expenses incurred by the state. Furthermore, candidates must not be currently enrolled in any other scholarship programs during the application period.
It is essential for applicants to commit to completing their training and returning to serve at the sending agency or as required by the State. Failure to fulfill these obligations, whether through voluntary withdrawal from studies, expulsion, or not returning to Vietnam after graduation, will result in candidates having to reimburse the training costs as per current regulations.
Candidates are only allowed to apply for one specific field of study and cannot change their chosen program or institution once they have submitted their application. Additionally, those who graduated from universities abroad without the endorsement of the Ministry of Education and Training or who completed joint programs with foreign institutions in Vietnam must obtain a certificate of equivalence from the Department of Quality Management under the Ministry.
The application process requires candidates to register online at the electronic portal of the Department of International Cooperation (http://tuyensinh.vied.vn) and the Polish National Academic Exchange Agency (https://programs.nawa.gov.pl). The deadline for online registration on the Polish portal is September 30, 2025, while the final date for submitting paper applications in Vietnamese to the Department of International Cooperation is April 16, 2025.
After the preliminary selection process, candidates will need to register on the electronic system of the Polish National Academic Exchange Agency. Those nominated by the Ministry of Education and Training and subsequently approved by the Polish government will be informed and guided through the necessary procedures to study in Poland by October 2025.
This scholarship program represents a significant opportunity for Vietnamese students seeking to further their education in Poland, allowing them to gain valuable international experience and enhance their academic credentials. As the deadline for applications approaches, interested candidates are encouraged to prepare their documents and ensure they meet all eligibility requirements.
In summary, the Ministry of Education and Training's announcement regarding the 20 scholarship opportunities for studying in Poland highlights not only the commitment to enhancing educational exchanges but also the importance of adhering to the stipulated conditions to ensure a successful and enriching educational experience abroad.
