On April 10, 2025, Vietnam's Ministry of Science and Technology officially launched an electronic information portal designed to streamline the proposal and evaluation of innovative technology and digital transformation solutions. This new platform serves as a formal channel for receiving new 'product-solution' proposals that have been successfully implemented in Vietnam and have provided tangible benefits to various agencies and businesses.
The portal is engineered to ensure that the entire process of connecting, evaluating, and publishing products and solutions in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation is conducted online, publicly, transparently, and conveniently. This means that organizations, businesses, and individuals can easily register, update product information, submit evaluation proposals, and track feedback results from specialized agencies without the need for traditional paperwork.
As of the portal's opening, the Ministry of Science and Technology began processing and evaluating submissions online, with exceptions made only for special cases that require on-site review. Remarkably, within the first 24 hours of its launch, the portal received 100 proposed products and solutions for registration, of which 60 are currently under evaluation after a legality review.
Deputy Minister Pham Duc Long, during the inauguration ceremony, emphasized the significance of the portal, stating that it not only supports the national digital transformation process but also fosters a spirit of self-reliance, creativity, and ambition in the digital age. “More than just a digital platform, this information portal embodies a new spirit—igniting a movement of entrepreneurship, innovation, and improvement; enhancing work efficiency and labor productivity; and promoting national pride,” Long remarked.
The portal has already published 71 outstanding digital technology products and solutions across various fields, including industry and construction, agriculture, natural resources and environment, transportation, postal services, logistics, education, healthcare, culture, society, finance, banking, commerce, and services. According to Mr. Do Cong Anh, Director of the Information Technology Center at the Ministry, these 'Make in Vietnam' products are highly applicable and can be implemented in real-world scenarios.
Long also highlighted that every idea, no matter how small, will be valued and made public on the platform, marking a significant departure from traditional technology awards that often recognize only groundbreaking products and major achievements. This inclusive approach aims to create a more comprehensive understanding of the innovative landscape in Vietnam.
The launch of this portal has been met with enthusiasm from various sectors. A representative from FPT described it as a practical step towards implementing Resolution 57 of the Politburo, establishing a strategic connection between the Government and the business community. “The emergence of this information portal is not just a communication improvement in policy; it is a strategic connection platform between the Government and the technology business community. This is a place to gather 'Make in Vietnam' technology products created, invested in, and developed by Vietnamese enterprises,” the FPT representative stated.
Furthermore, industry leaders have expressed optimism about the portal's potential. Mr. Do Ba Dan, Chairman of Tri Nam Group, suggested that the platform provides an excellent environment for businesses to showcase and find suitable products. He proposed adding a feature for user ratings on products, as real-world feedback is an essential measure of success.
In addition, Ms. Dinh Thi Thuy, General Director of Misa, urged the Ministry to establish clear evaluation criteria to facilitate easier compliance for businesses, as well as to categorize submissions by scale and industry for more convenient reference and searchability.
The portal’s design prioritizes user experience, ensuring that the registration and evaluation process is straightforward and accessible. This is particularly crucial as Vietnam continues to push for greater innovation and digital transformation across various sectors. The Ministry's commitment to transparency in the review process will empower the community to engage with and learn about valuable 'Make in Vietnam' products and solutions.
As the portal continues to evolve, it is expected to become a vital resource for businesses and individuals seeking to contribute to Vietnam's technological advancement. The Ministry of Science and Technology is dedicated to fostering an environment where innovation thrives, and this electronic information portal is a significant step in that direction.
Overall, the launch of this national information portal marks a pivotal moment for Vietnam's technology landscape, promising to enhance collaboration between the government, businesses, and the broader community. With its focus on transparency, accessibility, and user engagement, the portal is poised to play a crucial role in supporting the growth of innovative solutions that can drive the country forward in the digital age.
