The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism has launched an exciting new contest aimed at promoting the country's tourism sector through innovative technology. The contest, titled "Galaxy AI Understands Vietnamese, Honoring Vietnamese Tourism," will run from April 18 to May 18, 2025, and is open to all Vietnamese citizens residing in Vietnam.
This initiative is especially significant as it coincides with two major anniversaries: the 50th anniversary of the South Liberation Day and National Reunification on April 30, 2025, and the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam's tourism industry on July 9, 2025. Moreover, it is part of the broader Tourism Development Stimulation Program 2025 initiated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
During the launch event, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Ha Van Sieu, emphasized the importance of this contest, stating that it represents a platform for young technology enthusiasts to showcase their creativity while promoting Vietnam's rich cultural heritage. He expressed confidence that the contest would inspire participants to develop unique ideas that highlight the beauty of Vietnamese tourism.
"I believe this contest will be a valuable playground for those who love technology and tourism, a place to nurture unique and creative ideas that contribute to promoting the beauty of Vietnam's tourism widely and effectively," said Ha Van Sieu. He noted that Vietnam's tourism sector has shown remarkable resilience, recovering to 98% of its pre-pandemic levels by 2024, the highest in Southeast Asia.
In the first quarter of 2025 alone, Vietnam welcomed over 6 million international visitors, marking a record high for that period. This surge in tourism has been attributed to the government's efforts to enhance digital transformation in managing, promoting, and improving tourist experiences.
Nguyen Duc Xuyen, Deputy Director of the Tourism Information Center, highlighted that the contest aims to inspire tourists, particularly the youth who are passionate about technology. He indicated that this initiative opens up new avenues for collaboration between the tourism sector and major technology partners, contributing to the establishment of an effective and practical smart tourism ecosystem.
At the event, Le Xuan Truong, Marketing and Communications Director of Samsung Vietnam's Mobile Experience division, expressed pride in collaborating with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism. He stated, "We are honored to accompany the Tourism Information Center in such a meaningful project. Samsung believes that with the advanced Galaxy AI technologies integrated into Galaxy devices, especially the S25 Series, Vietnamese users will have powerful tools to express their creativity and love for their homeland, while promoting Vietnam's tourism impressively and effectively. This also serves as a bridge to share the beauty of Vietnam's nature and cultural values with both domestic and international friends."
Samsung has prioritized the integration of Vietnamese into Galaxy AI, making it one of the first 13 languages supported. In 2025, the company will further enhance Galaxy AI's ability to understand Vietnamese, particularly on the Galaxy S25 Series, to provide increasingly useful experiences for Vietnamese users.
The total prize pool for the contest is up to 300 million VND, awaiting the best creative works. The contest not only serves as a creative playground but also aims to ignite national pride and love for the homeland, stimulating domestic tourism through the lens of technology.
Ha Van Sieu remarked, "In this context, the cooperation program between the Tourism Information Center and Samsung Vietnam is an important step in integrating technology into tourism promotion. The contest accompanies the tourism stimulation program for 2025, helping to spread Vietnam's image to international friends."
The contest is seen as a significant step in the long-term strategy of Samsung to develop Galaxy AI as a tool that accompanies the preservation and promotion of Vietnam's cultural, historical, and tourism values. With artificial intelligence developed by Vietnamese individuals, Galaxy AI embodies the essence of national identity.
As the contest unfolds, participants and the public can expect updates on related activities and prizes on the official websites of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and Samsung Vietnam, as well as their official social media pages.
This contest not only marks a celebration of Vietnam's rich cultural heritage but also reflects the ongoing efforts to integrate technology into various sectors, paving the way for a more innovative and connected future in Vietnamese tourism.
