Vietnam Exhibition House Attracts Thousands At Expo 2025

During Japan's Golden Week, Vietnam showcases its culture and tourism potential at the global expo.

The Vietnam Exhibition House is rapidly emerging as a top attraction at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai, Japan, drawing nearly 25,000 visitors during the recent Golden Week holiday. According to the Department of International Cooperation under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, this impressive figure was recorded from April 30 to May 6, 2025.

Strategically located near the exhibition spaces of Japan, the United States, and France, the Vietnam Exhibition House showcases a modern and engaging design that captures the essence of Vietnam's rich cultural heritage while incorporating cutting-edge technology. The exhibit features a harmonious blend of traditional elements and modern innovations, such as 3D holograms, interactive touch screens, and mapping projections, all aimed at presenting a vibrant image of Vietnam that is dynamic, sustainable, and integrated into the global community.

This year's Golden Week coincides with Vietnam's celebration of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification, adding a layer of significance to the exhibition. To commemorate this milestone, the Vietnam Exhibition House presented a special video celebrating April 30 and other major Vietnamese holidays throughout 2025. The exhibition has also welcomed many overseas Vietnamese, fostering a sense of community and pride among visitors.

Among the notable visitors was Shuichi Abe, the Governor of Nagano Prefecture, who visited the Vietnam Exhibition House on the morning of May 7, 2025. During his visit, he expressed admiration for the exhibition space and emphasized the importance of cultural exchange and tourism collaboration between Nagano and Vietnam. "I hope that in the future, Nagano and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will seek opportunities to enhance cooperation in the fields of culture and tourism," Abe stated.

In addition to Abe's visit, the Vietnam Exhibition House has been bustling with activity during the Golden Week, featuring four daily performances of traditional water puppetry and folk music, which have proven to be major draws for attendees. Despite the high volume of performances, visitors have been arriving early to secure their spots, eager to experience the cultural richness on display.

On May 5, the exhibition also welcomed popular Vietnamese artists Tung Duong, Isaac, and Duyen Quynh, who interacted with audiences and contributed to the vibrant atmosphere of the event. Their presence not only entertained guests but also highlighted the cultural ties between Vietnam and Japan.

The exhibition area also showcased various OCOP (One Commune One Product) items, handicrafts, and local specialties, drawing significant interest from Japanese visitors. An interactive golf experience allowed guests to engage with Vietnam's emerging golf tourism sector, surprising many with the depth of Vietnam's cultural offerings and industry advancements.

Expo 2025 officially opened on April 13 and is set to run until October 13, 2025, attracting participation from 158 countries and territories. This global event serves as a platform for nations to share advanced technologies, environmental initiatives, and sustainable development models, while simultaneously promoting their cultures and tourism.

The Vietnam Exhibition House has made a strong impression in just a few weeks since the expo began. The surge in visitor numbers during Golden Week—when Japanese citizens typically travel the most—underscores the growing fascination with Vietnamese culture and the potential for international tourism growth.

Looking ahead, the Vietnam Exhibition House has planned several exciting events for May. From May 23 to 25, an exhibition titled "Ho Chi Minh - Symbol of the Era" will be held to commemorate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth. Following that, from May 26 to June 1, the Vietnam National Brand Week will take place, showcasing products that meet national branding standards and highlighting the achievements of Vietnamese businesses in sustainable development and integration.

The participation of Vietnam in Expo 2025 Osaka marks a significant cultural diplomacy initiative for the country this year. The impressive presence of Vietnam at the expo not only showcases its rich cultural identity but also reinforces its proactive engagement in global integration. The near 25,000 visitors in just one week reflect not only the appeal of Vietnamese culture but also the optimism for attracting international tourists in the future.

As the expo continues, the Vietnam Exhibition House is set to remain a focal point for cultural exchange and tourism promotion, inviting visitors to explore the unique and diverse landscape of Vietnam.
