Vietnam Celebrates National Reunification With Music And Fruit Exhibition

A song and an exhibition highlight Vietnamese culture and agricultural pride.

In a vibrant celebration of culture and agriculture, the song "Đất ơi nở hoa" (My Country Blossoms) will be performed by NSƯT Hoàng Tùng on April 25, 2025, at the Hà Nội Opera House, as part of the program "Khúc ca khải hoàn" organized by the Voice of Vietnam. This performance commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Southern Liberation and National Reunification Day, marking a significant moment in Vietnam's history.

"Đất ơi nở hoa," arranged by musician Đức Thụy, is not just a song; it is a heartfelt expression that encapsulates the essence of Vietnamese identity. The song is divided into four distinct sections: the first celebrates tradition and the deep connection to the land through evocative imagery like the sound of the đàn bầu (a traditional Vietnamese string instrument), lullabies, folk songs, and simple meals. The second section evokes childhood memories, highlighting the tireless efforts of mothers and the innocent smiles of children. As the song progresses to its climax, it radiates a spirit of national unity and optimism, culminating in a powerful refrain that emphasizes love for the homeland.

Musician Nguyễn Thành Trung, who composed the song, infused it with symbolic images of Vietnam, creating a living entity that resonates with listeners. He explained that the song's call to the land and water serves as a dialogue of love and belonging, drawing on the rich cultural heritage of Vietnam. The performance will be broadcast live on VOV1, VOV3, and VTV2, allowing audiences nationwide to partake in this momentous occasion.

In addition to the musical celebration, another significant event is taking place on April 23, 2025, aimed at promoting Vietnamese specialty fruits. This event, also linked to the 50th anniversary of the Southern Liberation and National Reunification Day, seeks to elevate domestic consumption and market development. For the first time, a dedicated space at 62 Tràng Tiền will showcase a variety of Vietnamese fruits, under the theme "Tinh hoa trái cây Việt" (Essence of Vietnamese Fruits).

The exhibition features dozens of specialty fruits from various regions, including Tiền Giang, Long An, Bình Thuận, and Sơn La. Popular fruits such as mango, durian, red dragon fruit, and plum are among the highlights. A notable innovation at this event is the use of QR codes on each displayed product. By scanning these codes, visitors can access detailed information about the fruit, including its origin, growing region, production process, and points of sale. This initiative aims to enhance transparency and build consumer trust in high-quality Vietnamese products.

Trần Hữu Linh, Director of the Department of Market Management and Development, emphasized that the event's goal is to introduce Vietnamese fruits while connecting them to the cultural, climatic, and soil characteristics of each region. He stated, "Our aim is to make consumers fall in love with Vietnamese-branded fruits. Each fruit displayed here is tied to the culture and people of its region, showcasing Vietnam's unique characteristics."

Furthermore, Linh highlighted the importance of product consumption in developing Vietnam's agricultural sector. He noted that while boosting exports is crucial, it is equally important to tap into the domestic market, which boasts over 100 million consumers. "Our responsibility is to support farmers in selling their agricultural products and promote agricultural development," he added.

Alongside Linh, Bùi Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, Deputy Director of the Department of Market Management and Development, shared insights about the processed fruit products of Vietnam. The exhibition is designed not only as a promotional space but also as a meeting point for managers, businesses, and consumers to exchange ideas about market development trends and solutions for increasing value and promoting domestic consumption.

The organizers hope that through this event, they can foster a greater appreciation for Vietnamese agricultural products and raise community awareness about the value of domestic fruits. This initiative is particularly significant as it aligns with the national pride surrounding the upcoming anniversary of the Southern Liberation and National Reunification Day.

As these two events unfold, they reflect a broader narrative of cultural pride and economic growth in Vietnam, showcasing the deep connections between the country's history, its people, and its agricultural heritage. The song "Đất ơi nở hoa" and the exhibition of Vietnamese fruits serve as reminders of the beauty and richness of Vietnam's cultural landscape, inviting both locals and visitors to celebrate the country's journey and its future.
