Ventforet Kofu Strengthens Squad For 2025 Season

Yamauchi Kodai joins on loan and Kashiwa Yoshifumi returns after 12 years to help Kofu's promotion bid.

Ventforet Kofu has made headlines with significant player transfers and acquisitions as they gear up for the upcoming season. The latest moves signal intention and strategy as the club seeks to fortify its squad for the challenges of J2 league.

One of the notable transfers is the arrival of goalkeeper Yamauchi Kodai, who has joined Kofu on loan from Kagoshima United FC. Originally hailing from Yamanashi, Yamauchi, 25, signed his loan for the period from February 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026. His contract prohibits him from participating against Kofu during official games against his parent club. "I am excited to be taking this great step at this amazing club which has provided me with this opportunity. I will give my all to achieve the goals the club aims for," he commented, expressing gratitude to Kofu for the chance to contribute to their goals.

Returning to Kofu is Kashiwa Yoshifumi, who rejoined the team after 12 years. The 37-year-old midfielder announced his desire to help propel Kofu back to J1, stating: "It has been over a decade since I started here; I’m back to bring my experience and energy to this club. I believe this is the first step to achieve our common goal of promotion to J1." Kashiwa's return is also celebrated by fans on social media and promises to add considerable depth to Kofu's midfield.

Yamauchi's tenure at Kofu follows his impressive performance with the club since arriving from the Ventforet Kofu U-18 setup. During the 2024 season, he played six matches, showcasing his skills and potential to be the club's go-to option as they aspire for greater successes.

Despite some departures, the squad welcomes new talents like midfielder Hiratsuka Yuuchi, who joined Kofu following his stint at Avispa Fukuoka. Hiratsuka expressed optimism about his new chapter, declaring: "I hope to spend quality time with the people of Kofu and show what I can do on the field." The integration of new players is expected to add vigor to the club's campaign.

On the flip side, the club bid farewell to several key players, most prominently Adaiuton, who marked his arrival to the Japanese football scene with Jubilo Iwata. He appreciated his time at Kofu, having registered 14 goals over the season, but is transitioning back to Brazil to join Clube do Remo. "I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone associated with Ventforet Kofu for the opportunity to play here," he said, leaving behind fond memories and impactful performances.

Another emotional departure is registered by the veteran Spreading Peace Mihei, who reigned for four seasons with Kofu, becoming known for his score contributions. The club and fans alike will miss his contributions and leadership on the pitch. Mihei's career total stands at 97 league goals, and eyes are now set on him reaching the century milestone as he continues his quest for personal achievement.

The club management has been proactive, also announcing the contract renewal of midfield talisman Sanpei Kazushi. His adaptability on the field, reflected through 27 matches last season, remains invaluable to Kofu's offensive strategies. "Four years at this club have been full of incredible memories, and I am grateful for the trust. I hope to help Kofu climb the ladder to J1," he said during the verification of his renewed contract.

Overall, Kofu's strategic movement of players this offseason indicates they are taking calculated risks to bolster their squad with relevant experience and talent. With the league approaching, these new player dynamics are poised to influence not only team morale but also their tactical approach for the 2025 season. Key matches and the collaboration between seasoned players like Kashiwa and up-and-comers like Yamauchi could very well define Kofu's fate this season.

With these changes, fans can expect heightened excitement as Kofu marches toward their aspirations, and the anticipation builds on how these new signings will perform on the field. The 2025 season promises to deliver thrilling moments, drama, and potentially the taste of success Kofu strives for. Exciting times lie ahead for the team and its supporters as the quest for promotion continues!
