Vanilla Opens New Store As Kids’ Carnival Returns

White Rose Shopping Centre welcomes exciting events for families and fashion lovers this May.

White Rose Shopping Centre is buzzing with excitement as it announces two major events this May that promise to enhance the shopping experience for visitors. The fashion retailer Vanilla is set to open a new store, while the Kids’ Carnival makes its much-anticipated return.

Vanilla, a popular women’s fashion brand, will launch its new store at White Rose Shopping Centre on May 1, 2025. The store will showcase its Pink Vanilla and Blue Vanilla collections, catering to shoppers of all ages with a diverse range of clothing, footwear, and accessories. Located in part of the former ground floor M&S unit, directly opposite Primark, the new store spans an impressive 5,002 square feet.

Ashleigh Kellett, Deputy Centre Director at White Rose Shopping Centre, expressed enthusiasm for the new addition, stating, "We know our guests love a variety of high-quality, affordable fashion options here at White Rose, so we’re excited to announce the upcoming opening of Vanilla. With its Blue Vanilla and Pink Vanilla labels offering everything from casual wear to occasion outfits, our visitors are sure to love browsing the options available in Vanilla’s new store.”

The store is currently recruiting for 12 to 15 new retail positions, providing an opportunity for job seekers in the area. Michelle Burns, head of retail stores at Vanilla, highlighted the significance of the new location, saying, "We have been waiting for the right location at White Rose Shopping Centre since we opened our first standalone store in 2021. As the brand continues to grow from strength to strength, this is the perfect location for Vanilla, and our first store in Leeds. We are sure White Rose visitors will love our approach to fashion, and trend-led collections.”

In addition to the new store opening, White Rose is gearing up for the return of the Kids’ Carnival, which will run from May 16, 2025, open daily from 11 AM to 9 PM. The Carnival promises a delightful experience for families, featuring fairground classics such as the Runaway Train and Bumper Cars, along with thrilling rides like the Twister and Paratrooper. For those seeking a bit of fun, the Carnival will also offer Water Balls, gentle rides for younger visitors, and engaging games such as Hook-a-Duck and the Ring Toss.

To celebrate the opening day, guests can enjoy an exclusive offer on May 16, where all rides will cost just two tokens each. Additionally, NHS card holders will benefit from a discount of one token per ride throughout the event. Ashleigh Kellett noted, "Our guests loved the Kids’ Carnival’s previous visits and have been excited for its return, so we’re very pleased to confirm we’ll have rides and games for all the family from May 16. We look forward to seeing lots of smiling faces at White Rose this spring and summer.”

White Rose Shopping Centre boasts 5,000 free parking spaces, making it an ideal destination for families looking for a fun day out. The centre also features hundreds of family-friendly shops and restaurants, along with a partially-covered Play Area for all-weather enjoyment. On Tuesdays, the Carnival will operate with no music from 11 AM to 12 PM to accommodate guests seeking a quieter experience.

With the opening of Vanilla and the return of the Kids’ Carnival, White Rose Shopping Centre is set to be a hub of activity this May. Whether shoppers are looking for the latest fashion trends or families are eager for carnival fun, there’s something for everyone at White Rose.
