A young woman lost her life and another man was left seriously injured after what is being described as a tragic incident in Vancouver's Joyce-Collingwood neighborhood.
Late Saturday night, just past midnight, officers from the Vancouver Police Department were dispatched to the scene located near Rupert Street and Euclid Avenue. Upon their arrival, they discovered the deceased woman, believed to be in her 20s, and the injured man, also in his 20s.
Vancouver Police Sgt. Steve Addison provided details during the investigation, stating they found the situation to be urgent. "We discovered two victims at the site. One was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other was rushed to the hospital due to severe injuries," he said. "The investigation is currently underway to determine exactly what led to this tragic outcome."
Authorities quickly took action by apprehending Tenzin Choigey, 46 years old, who has been charged with murder and aggravated assault. This arrest indicates the police believe they have identified the suspect responsible for the attack. Choigey is currently being held without bail, with his next court appearance set for November 26.
