Upcoming School Holidays Ignite Excitement Across Germany

Students and teachers eagerly count down to holiday breaks, with Easter vacations just around the corner.

As of Thursday, March 20, 2025, students and teachers across various states in Germany are keeping track of the days until their next breaks, nearing milestones in their academic calendars.

In Brandenburg, there are 25 days until the Easter holidays, which will run from April 14 to April 25, 2025. Currently, there are no school holidays ongoing. Furthermore, the state will observe 12 public holidays in 2025, two of which will fall on weekends and 10 on weekdays. The next public holiday is Good Friday, on April 18, 2025, with workers potentially gaining bridge days around May 1st and Ascension Day.

Meanwhile, the situation is much the same for Baden-Württemberg, which also reports 25 days until the next holidays and 12 forthcoming public holidays in 2025. The Easter holiday period in this state is scheduled from April 14 through April 26, 2025. Here too, the upcoming public holidays include Good Friday on April 18.

Students in Hessen, however, enjoy a slightly different timeline, as they have only 18 days left until their holidays commence, with their Easter break set from April 7 to April 21. With the same 12 public holidays highlighted, Good Friday is the next, scheduled for April 18.

In North Rhine-Westphalia, schools will also be closed for their Easter holiday starting from April 14, lasting until April 26, reflecting yet another alignment among states. They, too, have 25 days left to wait for their break and share the 12 public holiday structure, with Good Friday next on the list.

On the flip side, students in Hamburg, who are currently on break, have only one day left of their Easter holidays, which end on March 21, 2025. Following this break, they will wait 43 days until their next school holidays. The public holiday calendar here mirrors that of other states, with 11 holidays scheduled in 2025.

Bremen's students, likewise, have 18 days until their next break, with their Easter holiday from April 7 to April 19. Public holidays will also consist of 12 days in total for 2025, starting with Good Friday on April 18.

As it stands, the education sector across states is viewing a collective anticipation for upcoming holidays intertwined with public celebrations. This convergence hints at not just needed breaks for students and teachers but the synchronization of holiday planning across Germany.

In conclusion, as educators and students gear up for the upcoming breaks, the anticipation builds across various states, illustrating a shared rhythm in educational scheduling. While each state has its unique parameters, the overarching structure remains consistent, allowing families to plan their downtime effectively around public holidays.
