Furthermore, guests can look forward to even more spell-casting opportunities with the upcoming launch of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, scheduled to open in May 2025 as part of the expansive Universal Epic Universe.

Throughout the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure, specific locations allow guests to use their interactive wands to cast spells and create a magical atmosphere. Whether it's a whimsical fountain erupting with water or lanterns shimmering to life, the precise spell and required wand motion are clearly indicated at each designated spot. Luckily, the first generation of wands will remain fully functional, ensuring that fans and newcomers alike can enjoy the enchanting experience.
According to Universal Orlando, "The all-new Second Generation Interactive Wands will give guests an enhanced and exhilarating wand magic experience that includes several new features such as illumination effects and haptic vibrations custom to each spell so they can see and feel the results of their spellcasting like never before." The new wands are available in four distinct designs and are currently exclusive to the Florida resort.
Moreover, these new interactive wands can be further connected to Universal Play through the resort's app, unlocking a multitude of additional experiences. Universal Orlando explained, "Guests can personalize their wizarding story by customizing their very own Wizard Profile where they can select their Wizard Name, Hogwarts House, Avatar and Patronus." With the addition of these wands, five new spell locations have premiered, bringing the total to an impressive 30 interactive spell-casting spots across the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. Noteworthy new locations include the Dueling Club Tent in Hogsmeade, where guests can attempt to bring a dueling dummy to life, and the Owl Post, where visitors need to freeze pixies fluttering across the window. In Diagon Alley, guests can partake in activities such as repelling spiders at Ariadne's Spinners and controlling weather at Knockturn Alley Sky. Additionally, the Knockturn Alley Staircase is another spot where guests must conjure their Patronus to evade a Dementor.
