Universal Orlando Resort has officially launched the final phase of previews for its highly anticipated new theme park, Universal Epic Universe, starting on April 29, 2025. This new addition to the Orlando entertainment landscape is set to open its doors to the public on May 22, 2025, and this preview phase allows the general public to experience the park before its grand inauguration.
Previously, tickets for the preview were exclusively available to select groups, including annual pass holders and guests of Universal hotels. However, as of this week, anyone can purchase tickets directly from the official Universal website, with visits permitted until May 19, 2025. Prices for these tickets range from $144 to $154, depending on the date of the visit, making it an accessible opportunity for many eager fans.
During this pre-opening period, visitors should be aware that the operation of attractions may vary, as the park is still undergoing final adjustments. Universal has made it clear that while this is an exciting chance to explore the park, not all attractions and experiences may be fully operational during these preview days.
Epic Universe is being billed as the most ambitious theme park ever developed by Universal Destinations and Experiences. It will feature five immersive worlds: Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe. Each area promises unique experiences, cutting-edge attractions, themed dining, and exclusive shops, all designed to provide visitors with an unparalleled level of immersion.
As the opening day approaches, excitement is building not just for the park itself but also for the grand opening ceremony, which is expected to be a spectacular event. Universal is planning a large celebration featuring key executives from Universal and Comcast Corporation, a red carpet for guests, and various special activations. This event is likely to draw significant media attention and set the tone for what visitors can expect from Epic Universe.
The park will be closed for preparations on May 20 and 21, 2025, ensuring that everything is in place for the official launch. After the opening, the park will operate daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with the exception of Volcano Bay, which will have hours from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Notably, on the opening day, May 22, only the Island of Adventure and Volcano Bay will offer early entry for guests staying at Universal hotels, starting at 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM, respectively.
CityWalk, the vibrant entertainment district adjacent to the parks, will also be open during this period, from 8:00 AM to midnight, providing guests with additional options for dining and entertainment.
As Universal Orlando Resort prepares for the debut of Epic Universe, the anticipation is palpable. This new theme park is expected to further solidify Orlando's status as a global entertainment hub and significantly increase visitor traffic to Central Florida in the coming months.
For those planning to visit, it is advisable to secure tickets early, as availability is limited and subject to change. With the promise of cutting-edge attractions and immersive experiences, Epic Universe is shaping up to be a must-visit destination for theme park enthusiasts and families alike.
