UniMol Hosts Key Conferences On AI And Aging

The University of Molise addresses critical issues of artificial intelligence and the aging population in a day of insightful discussions.

CAMPOBASSO – On Tuesday, April 8, 2025, the University of Molise (UniMol) will host a significant day of events that promises to delve into pressing contemporary issues. The day will kick off with a conference titled "AI, Law and the World of Consumption," starting at 9:30 AM in the Aula Magna "V. Cuoco" of the Department of Law.

This first event will gather a diverse group of participants, including neuroscientists, philosophers, and legal experts, alongside journalists and entrepreneurs. They will engage in discussions on the implications of artificial intelligence (AI) across various sectors, particularly focusing on its impact on consumer behavior and market dynamics. The conference is organized in collaboration with the International Interuniversity Center for Research on the Hermeneutics of Complexity Methodology (CIIRMEC), the Order of Journalists of Molise, and Corecom Molise.

The morning session will feature a panel titled "Artificial Intelligence Between Individual Gnosis and Social Ethics," chaired by Professor Francesco Petrillo, a philosopher of law. This discussion aims to explore the intricate relationship between computer language and legal language, emphasizing ethical concerns and the potential of AI as a judgment system.

Following the morning discussions, the afternoon session will commence at 3:00 PM, led by Professor Francesco Paolo Traisci, a comparative legal scholar. This second panel, titled "Artificial Intelligence and Rules," will focus on the relationship between consumers and the regulations necessary to navigate the cultural revolution brought about by AI.

Concluding the discussions will be Professor Ruggiero Dipace, the Director of the Department of Law, who will summarize the key insights and findings from the panels.

Simultaneously, another important event will take place starting at 3:00 PM in the Sala "E. Fermi" of the University Library. This conference, titled "Take Care: Research Experiences," will feature the presentation of the volume "Moving Forward Together in the Elderly Society." This multidisciplinary work provides a comprehensive overview of the aging phenomenon, addressing social, economic, legal, ethical, and health aspects, with the goal of finding effective and sustainable responses to the growing demands for care and assistance.

This initiative is part of UniMol's ongoing efforts to reflect on aging issues and their implications for socio-economic and health policies. The university has long engaged in continuous analysis of this phenomenon, contributing to scientific debate and disseminating studies and data.

The event will see participation from the authors of the volume and experts from various fields, alongside representatives from organizations involved in elderly care. Institutional greetings will be provided by Rector Luca Brunese, Director of the Department of Economics Claudio Lupi, and Angela Perella, President of CROAS Molise.

The introduction to the discussions will be led by Professor Daniela Grignoli, President of the Educational Path of Social Service Sciences at UniMol. A round table, moderated by Cecilia Tomassini, will feature contributions from Carlo Lallo, co-author of the volume, and Stefania Giova from the University of Vanvitelli. The conclusions will be presented by Patrizia Pano, Coordinator of the Territorial Social Area Riccia-Bojano.

This day at UniMol will provide valuable insights into two crucial themes: the future of artificial intelligence and the challenges related to the well-being of the elderly in an aging society. It represents an opportunity for UniMol to solidify its role as a center for research and discussion on issues of significant social impact.
