Ubisoft Unveils Rainbow Six Siege X Closed Beta

The Closed Beta introduces Dual Front mode, inviting players to explore tactical gameplay innovations.

Ubisoft has officially unveiled Rainbow Six Siege X, marking it as the most significant evolution of the franchise to date. The announcement, made during the event on February 16, sets the stage for what players can expect with this new iteration, including the introduction of the Closed Beta phase, which commenced on March 13, 2025, running until March 19, 2025. This Beta offers fans, especially those interested in exploring new content, the chance to experience what Siege X brings to the table.

The Rainbow Six Siege X Closed Beta is set up to test a fresh Dual Front game mode, featuring 6v6 team matches, which is one of its standout innovations. Players can join by watching exclusive streams from partnered creators on Twitch, which will enable them to earn access drops. To get involved, users need to have their Twitch and Ubisoft accounts linked, ensuring fluidity and rapid registration for testing the Closed Beta.

To access the Closed Beta, players must follow these steps: log onto Twitch, find appropriate streams indicating drops will be available, and watch enough of the stream to earn the Closed Beta reward. Eligible platforms for participation include PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Ubisoft Connect. Once players have claimed their access, they will be provided with instructions on downloading and installing the Beta, either automatically for PC users or via code redemption for console owners.

The Closed Beta started at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET / 8 PM CT / 7 PM GMT and will conclude at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET / 8 PM CET / 7 PM GMT on March 19. With only one week allotted for testing, players are advised to log as many hours as possible, as the next opportunity for testing may be some time away.

For the first time, the Dual Front mode integrates Attackers and Defenders on the same team, allowing for innovative strategies and gadget combinations. The players will engage on entirely new maps, including District, which promises fresh angles and unexpected maneuvers during gameplay. Two objective points will be active at any time, challenging teams to manage both offensive and defensive tactics simultaneously.

Ubisoft is spearheading numerous upgrades to the core game system alongside Siege X, including enhanced graphics, improved audio, and more significant environmental interactions. The revamped player protection systems are also expected, catering to a diverse player base by ensuring fair competition.

This evolution is accompanied by exciting news on the transition to free-to-play, projected for June 10, 2025, coinciding with the launch of Siege X. This would allow new players to experience the game without upfront costs during Season 2 of Year 10, where 10 Operators will be available upon launch, and can be expanded to 26 through gameplay.

Ubisoft describes Dual Front as "a new mode pitting two teams of six Operators against each other to attack objectives and defend their sectors." Each match will require players to execute strategic plays such as planting sabotage kits, providing tactical depth not previously found within the game.

The map layout encourages adaptable strategies, allowing players to roam and find flanking opportunities. Notably, the inclusion of time-limited assignments within the neutral territory grants additional rewards, creating competitive moments throughout the match.

All these facets offer players the chance to engage not only with the story and mechanics of Rainbow Six Siege X but also with their peers, making tactics central to gameplay success. With the close of the Beta period approaching, community feedback will be pivotal as Ubisoft looks to refine and perfect this new installment.

The gaming community is abuzz with excitement about Siege X; it is encouraging lapsed fans to give it another try and welcoming newcomers alike. This shift to making the game accessible for all speaks volumes about Ubisoft's commitment to enhancing player experiences.
