UAE Weather Forecast: Rain Expected With Temperature Drop

National Centre of Meteorology warns of changing weather patterns and cooler temperatures across the UAE.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued its forecast for tomorrow, December 16, warning residents of the United Arab Emirates about changing weather patterns. According to the NCM, citizens can expect partly cloudy to cloudy weather, with the possibility of dusty conditions at times, particularly over eastern and northern areas and the islands. Light rain is also anticipated, coupled with low cloud cover across the region.

Night following this cloudy weather could bring humidity, potentially leading to fog or light mist formation especially over inland areas on Tuesday morning. Winds are expected to be light to moderate, shifting from the northwest to northeast, with speeds ranging from 15 to 25 km/h and potentially reaching up to 40 km/h during gustier moments.

Coastal residents should prepare for moderate to rough waves off the coast, with specific tide timings making the ocean more dynamic. The Arabian Gulf will witness its first high tide at 12:47 PM, followed by another at 03:40 AM. On the other side, the Sea of Oman will show rough waves initially, which may calm to moderate and light conditions thereafter. The first high tide here is at 09:14 AM, and the second at 11:15 PM.

Dr. Ahmed Habib, reflecting on the transition to winter observed by many UAE residents, noted, "Starting from December 16, the region will experience north-westerly winds accompanied by cooler air masses, leading to a gradual temperature decrease." These changes will see temperatures dropping by approximately 5-7°C, beginning from the western regions of the UAE and gradually sweeping across the country. Dr. Habib elaborated on expectations, indicating, "Gradually, the UAE will see the maximum temperature hovering around 25-26°C, and the minimum temperature will be as low as 12°C." This marks significant cooler air moving through the area, bringing with it the festive winter vibe familiar to the residents.

The expected changes will provide some relief from the heat as residents adapt to more comfortable climates. Indoor settings may benefit from this weather shift, and families can enjoy outdoor activities without the earlier oppressive heat.

Despite the pleasant change, vigilance is advised particularly for those traveling or living near coastal areas, where wave conditions may affect activities, alongside the potential for fog limiting visibility.

People are encouraged to stay informed on weather updates through reliable channels. The NCM will continue to monitor the situation closely, ensuring public safety and awareness for residents across the UAE.

When querying weather forecasts, families should take note of detailed predictions, especially during the transition months of December and January when temperatures can fluctuate significantly.

Overall, the National Centre of Meteorology encourages the public to heed the forecast closely as the cooler temperatures invite clearer skies and more enjoyable outdoor weather.
