The women’s football team and judo squad aim for success in Vietnam and Georgia.

The UAE national sports teams are gearing up for a stellar performance as they prepare for various international competitions throughout March 2025. This month, the spotlight shines on two specific teams: the UAE national judo team participating in the Tbilisi Grand Slam and the Abu Dhabi Sports Club women's football team competing in Vietnam.

The Abu Dhabi Sports Club for Ladies is making final preparations for their intense match against Ho Chi Minh City on March 22, 2025, during the Asian Women's Club League quarterfinals. The team is composed of 36 members, including 23 players, all focused on making a significant impact in the prestigious tournament. Holding their final training sessions at the Al-Iqama Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, the squad had a light practice just days before the big match and are also set to enjoy a breakfast hosted by the UAE embassy in Vietnam.

Notably, the Asian Club League features a knockout format where participating teams compete for significant prizes, raising the stakes for the women’s club aiming to showcase their talent on a grand stage. The tournament boasts other formidable competitors, such as Melbourne City from Australia and Wuhan Jiangda from China, intensifying the challenge facing the UAE squad. "The women’s club is ready for the decisive match against Ho Chi Minh City," told a source from the Abu Dhabi newspaper, exemplifying the determination and spirit of the team.

Simultaneously, the UAE national judo team is set to kick off their journey in the Tbilisi Grand Slam judo tournament held from March 21 to March 23, 2025. The tournament is organized under the auspices of the International Judo Federation and will feature an impressive 388 competitors from 53 countries, marking it as a significant event on the international judo calendar. The UAE team comprises four skilled athletes, preparing vigorously in Tbilisi and aiming to shine among the world's best.

This year, Naji Yazbek will kick off the UAE’s participation in the opening round as he competes in the under 66 kg category. Following him, teammate Muhammad Yazbek will face off in the under 73 kg weight class, while Amru Jad will compete in the under 81 kg category. The UAE’s participation will conclude with Sulaiman Ibrahim in the heavyweight under 90 kg class, making it a collective effort from the team to earn medals.

The judo competition is structured so that the second round matches begin on March 22, with all eyes to see how the Emirati athletes perform against a diverse and competitive field. A member of the UAE judo team stated, "Our team is prepared to face strong opponents in the judo tournament," reflecting their confidence heading into the matches.

As these two teams represent the UAE on differing international platforms, they embody a growing sports culture within the nation that emphasizes skill, determination, and competitiveness. Both competitions are not just about winning medals but also about showcasing the talent and spirit of Emirati athletes on a global stage.

With ambitious goals and a drive to excel, the UAE national teams are ready to face their respective challenges. As they head into these pivotal matches, fans and the nation as a whole look forward to cheering them on, hoping to witness moments of glory and pride fueling the dreams of future generations in sports.
