Twin Brothers Found Dead On Georgia Mountain After Missing Flight

The family disputes the murder-suicide theory as they demand answers and seek justice.

A chilling mystery is unraveling following the discovery of twin brothers Qaadir and Nazir Lewis, both 19, whose bodies were found on Bell Mountain, Georgia, approximately 90 miles from their home. The twins went missing after they failed to board their flight to Boston scheduled for March 14, 2025, and were found dead the following day on March 15.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is reportedly treating their deaths as a murder-suicide case. Yet, their family vehemently disputes this assertion, claiming the theory does not align with the twins’ character and their inseparable bond. "We want answers, we want to know exactly what happened to the twins," stated their aunt, Samira Brawner, expressing the family's distress over the GBI's findings.

The twins' uncle, Rahim Brawner, echoed similar sentiments, stating, "They love each other. They’re like inseparable. I couldn’t envision them hurting each other..." His words reflect the shock felt by family members who maintain the notion of the twins being extremely protective of one another.

Qaadir and Nazir Lewis were supposed to catch their flight to visit friends but never made it. The family discovered later on the very day of the flight, they were alerted to the tragedy, learning their sons had been found dead with their plane tickets still tucked away in their wallets. This bizarre turn of events left them bewildered, questioning, “How did they end up out in the mountains?” Rahim Brawner remarked, "They don’t hike out there; they’ve never been out there. They don’t know anything about Hiawassee, Georgia, or Bell Mountain. So how did they end up right there?"

Further adding to the family's concerns, their aunt, Yasmine Brawner, pointed out, "It was claimed they took their own lives. My nephews wouldn’t do this! They came from a family of love, and twins wanted so much for their future; they had dreams of starting their very own clothing line." Yasmine's frustrations are shared by the family, who see their portrayal as falling far from reality.

The GBI has confirmed the completion of autopsies but is currently awaiting additional forensic test results which may provide clarity on the cause of death. Family members have pushed for continuous, thorough investigations, urging authorities to clear the air surrounding this tragic incident.

To help with funeral expenses, the Lewis family has set up a GoFundMe campaign, which has so far raised $4,375 toward their $20,000 goal. The campaign description details the family's grief and determination for accountability: "Unfortunately, something happened at Bell Mountain, which ended the lives of 19-year-old Qaadir and Nazir, which needs to be investigated thoroughly." The family hopes to gather enough support to not only handle immediate financial burdens but also to seek justice for the twins.

Social media has also seen reactions to the tragic news, with many expressing disbelief at the notion of murder-suicide. Comments online echo the family's sentiment, with comments ranging from skepticism toward the GBI's narrative to heartfelt condolences being shared across platforms.

Overall, the Lewis family faces the dual challenge of mourning their beloved twins and seeking the truth behind their untimely deaths. They are determined, demanding justice and clarity—a portrayal of love and support indicative of their family’s values. The community continues to rally behind them, pushing for answers as the investigation continues.
