A month-long celebration features beloved shows, stars, and a documentary on Gloria Maria.

As the iconic TV Globo approaches its 60th anniversary on April 26, 2025, the Brazilian television network is gearing up for a spectacular celebration that highlights its rich history and cultural impact. A comprehensive lineup of special programming kicks off on April 15, 2025, and runs until April 28, culminating in a grand event titled 'Show 60 anos.'

This anniversary marks not just a milestone for the network but a celebration of Brazilian television itself, showcasing beloved shows and familiar faces that have defined the channel over the decades.

The festivities begin on April 15 with the premiere of 'Bolo de Aniversário da Globo' on the morning show 'Mais Você.' In this reality competition, nine talented bakers from across Brazil will vie for the title of the best birthday cake in honor of the network. The show's jury will be led by renowned baker Flavio Federico, who will be joined by two guest judges in each episode.

On April 24, fans can look forward to the much-anticipated return of 'Vídeo Show,' a program that has been a staple of Brazilian entertainment. This revival will feature former presenters like Miguel Falabella, Cissa Guimarães, Angélica, André Marques, Otaviano Costa, Monica Iozzi, and Joaquim Lopes. The show aims to rekindle memories by revisiting popular segments such as 'Falha Nossa' and 'Túnel do Tempo.'

Following that, on April 25, 'Globo Repórter' will air a thematic episode dedicated to the network's 60-year journey. This special will delve into the behind-the-scenes stories and challenges that have shaped TV Globo into the powerhouse it is today.

April 26, the official anniversary day, promises a packed schedule starting with a marathon of 'Pequenas Empresas & Grandes Negócio' and 'É De Casa.' A special edition of 'Vídeo Game' hosted by Angélica will also air, featuring a trivia competition between celebrity couples, testing their knowledge about the channel's history.

In the afternoon, 'Caldeirão com Mion' will join in the celebrations, along with local news programs, telenovelas, and 'Alta Horas,' all referencing the significant occasion. Notably, the final episode of the telenovela 'Volta por Cima' will air on this day, a rare Saturday broadcast.

On April 27, the festivities continue with 'Globo Rural' and 'Esporte Espetacular' featuring special segments. The film 'A Fábrica de Sonhos' will be presented during 'Temperatura Máxima,' telling the story of a young girl who wins a contest to visit the Globo studios and gets caught up in a fictional love story.

Later that day, 'Domingão com Huck' will pay tribute to the network's auditorium programs and feature a live broadcast of the Flamengo vs. Corinthians match from Maracanã, adding an exciting sporting element to the celebrations.

One of the highlights of the anniversary programming will be the new opening of 'Fantástico,' which will honor the show's legacy. Following this, the documentary series 'Gloria' will premiere, celebrating the life and career of the late journalist Gloria Maria, who passed away in 2023. This four-episode series will provide insights into her groundbreaking work and feature interviews with 18 Black female journalists, including Maju Coutinho, Aline Midlej, Valéria Almeida, and Andreza Oliveira. Friends of Gloria Maria, such as Djavan, Maria Bethânia, and Roberto Carlos, will also make appearances, along with notable figures like Pedro Bial and Mano Brown. Some segments were filmed in Salvador, Bahia, where Gloria Maria adopted her two daughters.

Finally, on April 28, the celebrations will wrap up with 'Sessão da Tarde' showcasing the film 'Coisa de Novela,' which tells the story of a grandmother and her granddaughter who share a passion for soap operas. The day will also see the premiere of the new telenovela 'Dona de Mim,' featuring a star-studded cast including Tony Ramos and Claudia Abreu. Additionally, 'Vale Tudo' will feature a significant plot twist with the return of the character Odete Roitman, played by Deborah Bloch.

As the curtain falls on this grand celebration, the 'Show 60 anos' will bring together iconic villain actresses Adriana Esteves, Joana Fomm, and Gloria Pires, reuniting them in a nostalgic homage to their unforgettable characters.

This extensive programming not only commemorates TV Globo's six decades of broadcasting but also reflects the network's enduring influence on Brazilian culture and its commitment to entertaining and informing audiences across the nation.
