A deadly mid-air collision between an American Airlines passenger jet and a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter near Washington, D.C., has resulted in the loss of all 67 people on board, leaving the nation grappling with the tragedy.
The incident occurred shortly before 9 p.m. on January 31, 2025, as American Eagle Flight 5342 was approaching Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport after originating from Wichita, Kansas.
