TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Dominates 2024 FIA Awards

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing secures three World Championship titles at FIA Awards, showcasing commitment to sustainable technologies.

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing capped off its exhilarating 2024 motorsport season by clinching three World Championship titles during the prestigious FIA Awards held on December 13, 2024, in Kigali, Rwanda.

The event, organized by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), celebrated the pinnacle of motorsport achievements, with TOYOTA GAZOO Racing receiving accolades for its exemplary performance across three series: the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), and the FIA World Rally Raid Championship (W2RC).

This year marked another triumph for TOYOTA GAZOO Racing, which not only underscored its technical excellence but also highlighted its commitment to sustainability and the development of environmentally friendly technologies. The team's success was powered by innovative energy solutions, including hybrid technology and 100% sustainable biofuels.

"Reflecting Toyota’s multi-pathway approach toward carbon neutrality, which offers customers various affordable and practical options to accelerate CO2 reduction," commented one FIA representative during the ceremony. The remark emphasizes the brand’s dedication to integrating sustainability within its competitive framework.

The competition was fierce throughout the season, culminating with dramatic moments on some of the world's most challenging terrains. It was during the final stages of Rally Japan where the titles were decided, showcasing the resilience and skill of both the vehicles and their drivers.

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing's victory in the WRC marked its fourth consecutive manufacturers’ title and eighth overall for the brand, having successfully secured eight wins from 13 rallies with the GR YARIS Rally1 HYBRID.

Meanwhile, the team didn't falter in the WEC, achieving its sixth successive manufacturers’ championship after the GR010 HYBRID raced to three wins from eight endurance events, bolstered by their commendable performance at the iconic Le Mans 24 Hours.

Completing the trifecta, the W2RC title was secured using the GR DKR Hilux Evo. The continuous success since the series’ inception showcases TOYOTA's dominance and proficiency, achieving their third manufacturers’ title.

Each driver contributing to this collective success also received recognition at the award ceremony, with notable mentions going to Elfyn Evans and Scott Martin for their second-place finish in the WRC standings, and Kamui Kobayashi alongside Nyck de Vries, who secured third place in the WEC drivers’ championship.

Lucas Moraes and Armand Monleon also stood out, taking third place within the W2RC drivers’ and co-drivers’ standings, making them part of the celebrated ensemble of drivers who shaped this successful season.

The FIA Awards not only reflect individual and team achievements but also encapsulate the broader evolution within motorsports, which increasingly prioritizes sustainable practices and innovation.

With the motorsport community booming, the achievements of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing serve as motivation for other teams and manufacturers to pioneer their paths toward greener solutions.

Unquestionably, 2024 was filled with thrilling races, fierce competitions, and groundbreaking technologies, setting the stage for even more exhilarating automotive narratives. The integration of hybrid power sources and eco-friendly fuel blends signifies where the industry's priorities lie—a challenge to engineers and competitors.

Looking forward, the blend of competitive spirit and environmental consciousness will likely define the future of motorsports, with TOYOTA GAZOO Racing leading the charge.

Fans and enthusiasts alike will be eagerly anticipating what the next season holds, as the world watches TOYOTA GAZOO Racing not just to race, but to continue redefining excellence within the sport.

With sustainable performance intertwined with high-octane excitement, the message is clear: the future of motorsports is not only thrilling but also responsible—an ethos TOYOTA GAZOO Racing fully embodies.
