The annual cultural event, dedicated to encouraging interest in studying the Russian language, will take place simultaneously across six continents. Over 900 locations within Russia will be involved, showcasing a remarkable effort to unite Russian-speaking communities globally. In 2025, the dictation's central text will be authored by Marina Moskvina, a notable writer and finalist of the Yasnaya Polyana Prize.
According to Vyacheslav Belyakov, Director of the Total Dictation Foundation, "Our mission is to elevate language proficiency while instilling a love and respect for the language. To achieve this, we run literacy tests annually and assist in improving knowledge through various educational projects. Most of these are available in online formats, accessible regardless of geographical location." This encapsulates the broader aim of the project: to render Russian language education engaging and accessible.
The registration for participation will launch on March 26, 2025, on the official Total Dictation website. This marks a critical step as enthusiasts prepare to join in writing this communal dictation by connecting through local venues and digital platforms.
