Tony Hadley Fears Wife Will Never Forgive Him

After 15 years of marriage, the singer still hasn't planned a honeymoon for his wife Alison.

Spandau Ballet's Tony Hadley has expressed worries that his wife may never forgive him if he fails to organize her dream honeymoon. The vocalist married Alison Evers in 2009, and they have two daughters together, Zara, 16, and Genevieve, 11. However, Tony has yet to take his wife on the traditional romantic post-wedding getaway. After a 15-year wait for the trip, Tony, who is appearing on James Martin's Saturday Morning cook show, confessed his fears of being permanently in trouble if he doesn't make amends.

"I've never taken my wife on a honeymoon, and she keeps reminding me of this," he revealed to The Times in a previously published interview from 2022. "She would choose the Maldives as our destination, and I'm slightly concerned that I might get bored, although I've heard the diving there is fantastic. We absolutely must go, or she'll never forgive me."

Alison, who is Tony's second wife, has shown remarkable patience being married to a musician, reports the Express. He acknowledged that she "understands that I have to be away for work." He further explained, "Rock'n'roll is a selfish business because you're always thinking about the tour, the show, promotion, and writing new albums. Your mind is elsewhere, but I've learnt not to let it consume everything. You want time with your family."

Singing his wife's praises, he told the Sydney Morning Herald: "Alison does a wonderful job raising our daughters. I never thought I'd have kids later in life, but it has been an amazing experience. Having daughters is rewarding because they're always wanting a hug from Dad. My older children love the young ones," he added. "It's an incredible feeling to witness that."

The singer was previously married to Leonie Hadley in 1983, and together they have three adult children: Thomas, 34, MacKenzie, 31, and Toni, 27. The marriage ended in 2003, and Tony acknowledged that his career in pop music played a part in their separation. "Being a touring musician was hard on Leonie. I was away on tour a lot, sometimes for months at a time," he shared.

Tony, once the frontman of the iconic band Spandau Ballet until their split in 1990, now lives in Oxfordshire with Alison and their two children. He confessed that relocating from a bustling city to a tranquil town provided him with the perfect work-life balance. Speaking on the Stars Cars Guitars podcast, he expressed: "Moving here is the best thing I ever did. The people are lovely, everyone is really friendly, it's almost like going back in time. There is a real sense of community. The schools are brilliant and I love visiting Aylesbury - some real thought has gone into the redevelopment there which is great to see."

"My wife Ali was dreading it when we moved here because she thought after six months, it'd be saying we need to move back to London," he said. He added: "She was waiting for that day but that day has never come and it never will. There's a sense of freedom here which you just don't get in London."

With his appearance on James Martin's Saturday Morning on April 12, 2025, Tony Hadley seems to be at a pivotal moment in his personal life. As he grapples with the potential consequences of neglecting his wife's wishes for a honeymoon, he also reflects on the joys and challenges of family life as a musician.
