Residents of the village of Itatka in the Tomsk region are raising alarms over aggressive stray dogs reported to be roaming the area.
Eyewitnesses have reported instances of dog attacks where victims suffered minor injuries, causing distress among the local population.
Meanwhile, more than 200 residents across the region have applied to participate in the 'Our Heroes' management training program. This initiative, aimed at defenders of the Motherland, has seen registration from 194 participants and veterans of the special military operation alongside 32 volunteers as of March 4, 2025.
The application period will remain open until March 31 on the program's portal and at public access centers throughout the Tomsk region.
Adding to the region's achievements, Konstantin Smetanin from Parabel has made headlines by winning a bronze medal at the Russian Championship for powerlifting. Competing among elite athletes from 32 regions, Smetanin triumphed particularly in the 'triple with equipment' discipline during the championships held in Syktyvkar.
Recognizing local talent, the Tomsk region has inaugurated the first personalized workshop within its professional education system, dedicated to Nikita Popov, a student from the Akasinov Technical School. This innovative lab is equipped with advanced machinery to produce high-quality wooden baguettes, symbolizing the region's commitment to fostering skilled craftsmanship.
The laboratorium was established to acknowledge Popov's outstanding achievements both academically and professionally, supported by the regional initiative led by Governor Vladimir Mazur.
With the increase of aggressive dogs posing safety concerns and the success stories coming out of these educational and athletic endeavors, Tomsk region reflects both its challenges and triumphs as it moves forward.
