Tiromancino Releases New Video Mi Rituffo Nella Notte

The band celebrates a new single and prepares for a milestone tour this summer.

Italian band Tiromancino has unveiled the official music video for their latest single, "Mi rituffo nella notte," directed by the band's frontman, Federico Zampaglione, and featuring the beloved Italian actor and comedian, Maccio Capatonda. The video, which was released recently, has already garnered attention for its unique blend of irony and melancholy, perfectly encapsulating the essence of the song.

Filmed across the picturesque streets and squares of Rome, the video tells the story of a character portrayed by Capatonda, who embarks on a bizarre and unfortunate night fueled by an impulsive decision to abandon everything for love. This narrative twist adds a layer of surprise, particularly in the final moments, balancing humor with a touch of sadness.

Zampaglione shared insights into the creative process behind the song, revealing that it was inspired by a personal moment with his wife. He recounted, "This song was born in a rush one night after a discussion with my wife. She asked me, 'What will you do without me?' and I instinctively replied, 'I’ll dive back into the night.' Just fifteen minutes later, I had the song!" This spontaneous creation reflects the song's thematic depth, which resonates with listeners.

The music and lyrics of "Mi rituffo nella notte" were crafted by Zampaglione, who collaborated with Leo Pari and Simone Guzzino for production. The track is noted for its narrative style, echoing the poetic influences of Italian music, particularly drawing comparisons to the works of renowned artist Lucio Battisti, known for his lyrical mastery.

As Tiromancino prepares for a significant milestone this summer, the band will celebrate the 25th anniversary of their iconic album "La descrizione di un attimo" with a dedicated tour. This event marks a momentous occasion for the group, known for their rich musical legacy and emotional storytelling through song.

In addition to his musical endeavors, Zampaglione has made a name for himself in the film industry. His recent horror film, "The Well," has been recognized by the New York Times as one of the five must-see horror films and has been distributed in 104 countries. This marks a significant achievement in his directing career, which began in 2007 with the film "Nero bifamiliare." Over the years, he has continued to explore diverse genres, including titles like "Shadow," "Tulpa," and "Morrison," the latter based on a novel he co-wrote with Giacomo Gensini.

Tiromancino's discography boasts 12 albums of original music, showcasing their evolution as artists over more than three decades. Their ability to weave together narratives that resonate with audiences has solidified their position as one of Italy's most enduring and poetic musical acts.

With "Mi rituffo nella notte," Tiromancino continues to captivate fans, offering a poignant mix of emotion and lightness that reflects the complexities of love and life. The release of the music video serves not only as a celebration of their latest work but also as a testament to the band's enduring creativity and connection with their audience.

As they embark on this new chapter, both Zampaglione and Tiromancino are poised to leave an indelible mark on the landscape of Italian music, blending their artistic visions in a way that resonates deeply with listeners. The band's journey is a reminder of the power of music to evoke emotions and tell stories that transcend time and place.
