Tina Knowles Celebrates Beyoncé’s Grammy Win

The proud mother discusses her daughter's milestone and Blue Ivy’s bright future.

Tina Knowles, the proud mother of music icon Beyoncé, recently expressed her surprise and elation over her daughter’s historic Grammy win during her appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. This triumphant moment occurred at the 2025 Grammy Awards, where Beyoncé secured the coveted Album of the Year award for her notable album, Cowboy Carter. After previously facing four disappointments for this prestigious award, Tina shared how astonished she was when the announcement was finally made.

"I was really, really shocked. I wasn't expecting it... It’s been so many times where I thought [Beyoncé] would win, and it didn’t," Knowles said, reminiscing about the moments leading up to the award. The 2025 Grammy ceremony marked yet another milestone for Beyoncé, who extended her record for the most Grammy wins by any artist and added three more awards to her collection, including Best Country Album and Best Country Duo/Group Performance for her collaboration with Miley Cyrus.

Tina recalled the moment vividly, explaining how she sat with her grandchildren, Rumi and Sir, at Beyoncé’s house, watching the awards. "For a second, we just sat there, and then when she [Beyoncé] did this [a viral reaction during her win], I thought, 'Oh, it’s real.' I couldn’t believe it!" she exclaimed. The overwhelming emotion felt by both Tina and her family highlighted the significance of the moment not only for Beyoncé but also for their family legacy.

Blue Ivy, Beyoncé’s 13-year-old daughter with Jay-Z, played her own notable role during the ceremony. Tina humorously noted how Blue Ivy was quite assertive, telling her father Jay-Z not to join on stage for the acceptance speech, stating, "Now daddy, don’t get up there on the stage. This is not your night, sit down and be quiet." The self-assuredness of Blue Ivy, which Tina affectionately described as being "a bossy little Capricorn, like her grandma," reveals the confidence she demonstrates even at such a young age.

Tina reflected on the close bond between mother and daughter, saying, "They tell me to mind my business," when asked if Blue Ivy seeks her advice. Knowles emphasized how close Beyoncé and Blue Ivy are, effectively indicating the dynamic and strong family ties they share.

During her interview, Tina also discussed Blue Ivy’s future possibilities. When Jennifer Hudson queried if she thought her granddaughter would follow Beyoncé’s footsteps, Tina expressed uncertainty, saying, "She’s a jack of all trades... she can do so many things." This response not only highlights the potential Blue Ivy holds but also demonstrates the encouragement and love Tina has for her family’s individual pursuits.

Blue Ivy first showcased her talent alongside her mother on the animated film Mufasa: The Lion King, where they lent their voices to the characters Nala and Kiara. Reflecting on her childhood experiences, Blue Ivy once stated, "If I, like, told my younger self I was in a movie, I’d like never believe myself," underscoring her remarkable transition from child to budding star.

Tina’s appearance on the show was not solely about celebrating Beyoncé, but also served as a platform to promote her memoir, Matriarch, and share her insights on motherhood and family life. "I’ve been so blessed... but the best job I’ve ever had is being a mother," she shared, evoking heartfelt sentiments about the challenges and joys of parenting.

Through her stories, Tina Knowles demonstrated the importance of nurturing family relationships, providing sound advice for other mothers, and recognizing the incredible achievements of her daughters. With Blue Ivy stepping onto the spotlight and Beyoncé continuing to break records, it’s clear the Knowles family is destined for greatness—and they’re just getting started!
